TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! CLAY CHASTAIN MO SUPREME COURT CLOSING ARGUMENTS: KANSAS CITY 'OPPRESSIVE GOVERNMENT' OBSTRUCTS DEMOCRATIC PROCESS!!!

Kansas City Transit Activist Clay Chastain recently concluded his arguments with the Missouri Supreme Court and has sent us a message regarding the finer points of his struggle.

More importantly . . .

LIKE HIM OR NOT, CLAY CHASTAIN IS STANDING UP FOR THE CITIZEN INITIATIVE PROCESS!!!

Mr. Chastain's light rail plan was criticized but that doesn't change the fact that Mayor and Council summarily dismissed this effort from THOUSANDS of voters without much consideration.

Also . . . It's always worth pointing out that Clay Chastain is the only man in Kansas City to have ever won a citywide vote on public transit improvements focusing on fixed rail.

Here's his message with court documents . . . Check it:

(July 18, 2013) Chastain's gallant attorney's closing argument to the Missouri Supreme Court in behalf of the people's light rail initiative: See attachment!

*******************

After overturning a vote of the people in 2007, Kansas City's oppressive government, in 2011, seized another legitimate transit initiative submitted to it from the people forcing its defenders to
spend (to date) over thirty thousand dollars in legal fees to try and set it free.

No matter what your views on the initiative's subject matter or its author, this is a disgrace!

When a government can ignore its own charter and obstruct a democratic process designed to allow the people to go around that government, the democratic process... we herald to the world... has been diminished.

The people's right to initiative is their right to have their ideas judged by their voting peers, and not a self-serving government with its own agenda.

What we have going on in Kansas City is a government that does not like what a certain initiative proposes, and has misused its formidable legal resources to conjure up bogus technicalities upon which to try and upend that free and lawful testament from the people.

Now the fate of a distressed initiative...and its inherent vision to uplift a distressed city...lay at the noble foot of the Missouri Supreme Court.

We now stand and wait, that the wisest among us will come to its rescue.

Kansas City Community Activist...Clay Chastain

  1. We got to get out of this place, if it's the last thing we ever do.

  2. Yes. Agree. Kansas City interferes and trods over the rights of the American people. Sly James should not be re-elected to any government position as a result of the dictatorship he has created in Kansas City. The people are feeling the oppression.

  3. KC = Detroit

  4. True, 8:03. This pussy Sly James must be voted out of office. He is the poster Boy of what's wrong with this City. Lump that idiot police chief in with him, for that matter.

  10. I don't think a nazi wet dream is the solution here.

The tax hike can't cover the cost unless they hit the tourist hard

Clay your governor's name is Bob MacDonald -- not Jay Nixon. You do not live in Kansas City, or even the state of Missouri. You live in Virginia. I would say "go away" but you already did that; therefore, you are not a Kansas City Political Activist. You are a liar and a psychotic. You are not fighting for Democracy. Instead, you are fighting for your own personal despotic rule over a town that you have not lived in for years. The only reason we see your foreign name anymore is that Tony has an unnatural fear of public transit, so he puts your name next to that issue hoping that the crazy will rub off.

  12. sorry but some you missing the real point. He standing for you right to have vote if like or not. this you right to vote on the issue and not let gov take that away from you sorry. don't don't see that.

  13. Clay Chastain can get fucked with a chainsaw.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Clay, you are not a "Kansas City Community Activist" or a Kansas City anything else. You a fucking carpetbagger. Try to understand this, Clay: YOU DON'T LIVE HERE. YOUR OPINIONS DON'T MATTER.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Clay might be nuts, but he does have a huge set.

    ReplyDelete
  16. 5:34 AM What difference does it make where you live. Jermaine Reed lived in Washington DC and somehow was elected to City Council. There's a laundry list of residency violators in Kansas City. Clay Chastain's efforts are appreciated. At least he's willing to stand up for democracy; not autocracy. He's a true veteran of war. Dealing with Kansas City corruption is no joke!

  17. "Lived" in Washington, D.C. As in "past tense", translated for the willfully obtuse -- "doesn't live there any more."

Clay Chastain "LIVES" in Virginia, although is brain has long been up Uranus. Present tense. Still lives there. Has for years.

So no, Clay Chastain isn't fighting for my right to vote, and never has. After all, I have voted several times on his various cockamamie, dreams, and there are limits to my patience.

What Clay Chastain is fighting for, and the only thing he has ever fought for, is Clay Chastain and 15 more minutes of "fame" in the only town ever to give him even that much.

  18. 1:33 is spot on. Clay Shitstain is an egomaniac whose plan is unconstitutional and cannot be implemented. Clay is fighting for his own relevance, not for KC, or KC voters.
