Weekend traffic report from our blog community offers insight and hopefully starts the discussion for a SOLUTION as a main road for the entire state is in clearly in need of an upgrade.
Here's the word:
"Encountered two parking-lot-style delays on I-70 yesterday. This highway needs to rebuilt totally because even without construction delays it's inadequate for the amount of traffic. The best advice is to stay gassed up with periodic stops if crossing Missouri on I-70."

Don't complain about it to City Hall. They'll just want to KC to keep building out the streetcar.

ReplyDeleteWow, that will be a real hit to KC's revenue if it slows traffic down. They use I-70 (and every other street, alley and roadway) as a major revenue source.

ReplyDeleteThe elites can't make any money on this; it doesn't benefit them (they fly or someone else drives) so why would they care about this?
Investing in repairing and upgrading our infrastructure provides jobs for those who really need it, but Trump and a Republican-owned Congress haven't budged. In Missouri, either make I-70 and I-44 into toll roads or raise the fuel taxes by 5-6 cents per gallon. If you don't like bad roads and unsafe bridges, don't expect the road fairy to pay for it. Take responsibility. MoDOT is accountable; the General Assembly, certainly not.
