KANSAS CITY'S FAVORITE SUMMER GAME: FIREWORKS OR GUNSHOTS?!?

It's that time of year once again, wherein locals celebrate liberty in the U.S. by blowing up a small piece of it.

There are many guides available about where fireworks are available and legal in the Kansas City metro . . . But here's a hint, enforcement in KCMO is nearly impossible and always arbitrary. Meanwhile, the denizens of the urban core are accustomed to spending an OBSCENE amount of cash LITERALLY going up in smoke as part of our patriotic heritage which understands that always obeying the rules is for suckers.

Accordingly . . .

IT'S TIME FOR KANSAS CITY'S FAVORITE SUMMERTIME TRADITION!!! CASUALLY ASKING A LOVED ONE: IS THAT SOUND FIREWORKS OR GUNSHOTS?!?!

Playing this game helps keep families safe, away from windows and realistic about local life.

Meanwhile, we can expect more saccharine public service announcements from police & politicos as we approach the 4th.

Hopefully, we'll have more for the morning update . . . STAY TUNED!!!

  1. Hearing that the enforcement is going to be much more strict this year. They'll have a hard time going after the sellers of fireworks but here's a little tip for your audience TKC, I wouldn't have warrants and be out there shooting off fireworks. You might be a 4th of July surprise.

    1. Fireworks or gunshots?

Probably both is always a safe answer around this time of year.

  2. ^^^ Lulz.

Yeah, that's a KC tradition but until recently you didn't have to pay $3000 a month to play this frustrating game.

  6. You know it's strange where I live we don't have an advertising campaign like this. Seems like part of the city has uncivilized people that need to hear this and other parts of the city doesn't give something like shooting into the sky a second thought.

  7. ^^^^^True, folks in JOCO don't have to be told no to shoot into the air.

  8. There is nothing wrong with gunshots as long as it is hood rats shooting at each other and hopefully killing each other.

  9. Nothing like geriatrics complaining to start the week.

  10. It always surprises me how much some of these people spend on fireworks and they don't appear to have much money to their name.

These are the same folks that buy lottery tickets week end and week out and look like they should be buying groceries for their families.

    Its a family tradition.

  11. Like, you think this is effective? Some punk hood rat is sitting there saying, "Gee, I probably shouldn't celebrate the July 4th holiday by shooting my 9 mil in the air. Maybe I should just go to a fireworks show and stand at attention when they play the Star Spangled Banner."

  17. All the asshats can continue to shoot off anything they want, anywhere in the City limits, and not worry about the authorities catching them. We have a barrage of fireworks AND gunfire starting in June and continuing through July when the idiots run out of the ammunition. So the fans of bang, boom, pop can blow their paychecks (literally) without worry.

  18. Why not fire into the ground ? Rock free area.
