Kansas City Star Confirms TKC FIRST NEWS ON MLK RENAME FUNDING MECHANISM FAIL For The Paseo Yet Still Demands Council Submit To Demands Of East Side Ministers
We noted this issue months ago and then AGAIN last week . . .
- The Revs can go to court and still have their ordinance gutted just like Clay Chastian . . .
- They DO NOT have the votes on the Council or the support of the Mayor for an MLK name change on The Paseo.
- The newspaper is ignoring other options as 63rd Street is gaining momentum.
Here's the daily rag attempting to spin the controversy and hoping that suburban guilt guides the Council.

The battle over honoring MLK is getting messy. KC Council should clean this up
Kansas City ministers are pursuing a petition drive to rename The Paseo for Martin Luther King Jr. The renaming would cost $160,000 and could bring a legal fight, but the City Council could avoid that mess by making a choice now.
Nothing like a bunch of fat fake revs demanding they spend other peoples money on something very very few people want
ReplyDeleteIt would be appropriate to name a turd in Brush Creek after MLK. It would have to be a very fat turd.
ReplyDeleteI never understood how naming crumbling infrastructure after MLK did anyone any good, especially his legacy...
ReplyDeleteWhile the fat fake revs we’re taking a break stuffing their pockets with money and stuffing their faces with fried chicken, this movement has lost momentum.
ReplyDeleteWhy don’t the fat fake revs start a petition to stop all the murders in their ghetto neighborhoods. They could drive around in their Escalades and Chrysler 300s getting the signatures.
ReplyDeleteFat filthy motherfuckers, why now after 50 years?
ReplyDeleteThe revs are just a clone of Slie. They just want other peoples money to stuff in their pockets.
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you why after 50yrs. It's because it's a black power thing, it has nothing to do with MLK! The tax payers will have to pay MLK's family, his name doesn't come free!
ReplyDeleteThe Star is just being solicitous of its 3 paid subscribers east of Troost.
ReplyDelete8:57 There are three literate people east of Troost? Since when?
ReplyDeleteBaptist ministers in KC or Alabama should stay completely out of Politics. If they want to get into politics they should run for office. I hope the Missouri AG looks at these churches tax exemption basis and takes the exemption away if they continue to pander in politics.
ReplyDelete@ 9:07, who said they read?
ReplyDeleteThey just heard a rumor there was something called "Toilet Paper", and decided to become trendsetters in the Black Community.
Stop "honoring" MLK by naming crap after him. Honor him by heeding his message.
ReplyDeleteWow, so you were first. So all we can conclude there's not a nigger ass you won't kiss.
ReplyDeleteGood job Tony!
"Suburban guilt"? Won't be coming from North of the river, like the Council would give a shit anyway.
ReplyDeleteThere Like Hillary they Just won't go away. The City has more pressing issues.
ReplyDeleteRename Brush creek, MLKreek. The King family can sue but trade mark law would likely be the cities side. Tax payers win, old squiky wheel revs are happy. So much winning.
