Money quote when Mr. Tammeus asks a legal expert about the value of anti-Sharia laws . . .
“None. . . If there’s any conflict between Shari’a and U.S. law, then the court will not enforce Islamic law. Instead it would use U.S. law. It has to (because of the “Supremacy Clause” of the U.S. Constitution). The criticism of ‘creeping Shari’a’ to overthrow the U.S. Constitutional system is Islamophobic and is factually and legally unfounded. If a court did that it would be overruled and go all the way to the Supreme Court.”

Sharia law has taken root in some European countries. England, France, Germany, Sweden all have Sharia law being the rule in Muslim areas.

ReplyDeleteActually European Union law is invoked by leftist federal judges, including Supreme Court justices, rather than Islamic law. So the premise of this article is totally wrong. I agree with the ban on using foreign law to interpret American statutes and rules. There is a reason why we are here and they are there, and that reason is they're nuts and always have been.
