TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! SCHLITTERBAHN MOSTLY SHUT DOWN AFTER INSPECTION FAIL!!! BEHIND THE SCENES: KANSAS POLITICOS WANT EMBATTLED WATER PARK COMPANY OUT OF WYCO!!!

The crisis for Schlitterbahn in Kansas is now mostly bad theater.

The reality is that this park is on its way toward a change in ownership and/or inevitable shut down.

A TKC truism: Slicing off the head of an elected official's son pretty much means a one way ticket out of biz for any proprietor.

Real talk . . .

SHAME!!! THE TKC COMMUNITY SEYZ SCHLITTERBAHN SAFE ENOUGH FOR STEPCHILDREN AND BLOGGERS!!! NEVERTHELESS, RIDES REMAIN CLOSED AFTER DECAPITATION CRISIS, POLITICO PLANS TO LOCK UP EXECS AND A VENDETTA TO CHASE THE BIZ OUT OF KANSAS!!!

We can call it "news" when it happens and I guess we have to make it plain in the meantime . . .

SCHLITTERBAHN ISN'T WELCOME IN KANSAS ANYMORE!!!

Really, is there anybody but anonymous d-bags on the Internets willing to stand up for the company??? We'll be happy to wait for some testimony and a test ride.

There's simply no coming back from the alleged careless disregard for safety that led to the decapitation of an innocent youngster.

And so, local medic companies follow this story like it's breaking news but the conclusion has already been decided.

  1. You can't blame them for wanting the park shut down. Too bad that it's too little, too late.

    1. Here's something to add to your list -

Has the water park really done anything to show that they've changed? Are the more concerned with safety now? How are they working to protect their patrons?

I can't imagine this park staying open for much longer. I know people are dumb but they're not that dumb to feel safe at the park.

    2. The only thing I can agree with is the "vendetta" part. It might seem like due diligence but no amount of inspections will bring Caleb back, so it's tantamount to harassment.

I think what's even more interesting is how the media is caught in the middle here. They need that ad revenue just like everybody but they also can't cross elected officials who are pushing for the park's demise.

I bet we'll see a few more passionate editorials on this one.

  3. What does Ann Murguia think about this or is she too busy getting drunk and getting dicked?

  4. 7:21 is right, this is a personal vendetta, if kansas did inspections before hand this may have been prevented. These officials wanted this park to begin with, they saw money coming in, are they just as responsible for not having inspections in place already???

  5. If this was any one other than a son of a politician the state of Kansas would have done nothing

  6. How about an article about the total lack of due diligence about this company by the electeds who threw all the tax breaks and STAR bonds at them in the first place?
Another example of rubes being snowed and believing all the promises and hype, just like Harley, the P&L District, and all the rest of the "under-performing" taxpayer supported scams.
Have a really BIG idea, but no money?
    You know where to go!

  7. Me NO Slide Junior5/24/18, 7:57 AM

If I remember correctly, during the decision to allow this Water Slide to even be up here in Kansas City in the 1st place,,, there was concern about its SAFTEY from residents in TEXAS, where there were problems.

As I recall, there were several SAFTEY issues and complaints about this very Water Slide down in Texas,, can't remember exactly where.

But it was approved for here and officials claimed it was SAFE .

I remember the concerns being on the news before this thing was shipped here and it was quite controversial, as it was deemed to STEEP and Dangerous even before the damn thing was shipped up here and erected .

  8. Best bet for survival of this place at this point is a change in ownership. Unfortunately, the current ownership is probably going to take a loss. And for $hit's sake, take the slide down already. It's like a stain on the place that is going to drive consumers away.

Otherwise, it'll be an overgrown weed patch in about a year.

  9. 1st move the new owners need to institute is a name change. Shitterbomb was never a good name.

  10. I'm pissed they shut down the big water slide that kills people. They need to alter it slightly. I've always wanted a haunted water slide and it could develop a cult following and be the things of lore.

  11. give the whole place to caleb's relatives!

  12. If the water park is to stay how are the inspection and government officials working with the park owners to ensure everything is safe? If they are not then I agree that it is a personal vendetta. If that is the case then just bulldoze the park and develop businesses that will be open all year.
Definitely agree with @7:56 about the article/investigation of the officials who wanted the money and approved this place.

  13. Even if Kansaas officals say the park is safe, who would ever respect their opinion. They have proven how incompetent they ae. They are from Kansas so of course they are incompetent.

    THAT'S TRUTH RIGHT THERE!

Based upon local media reporting you'd never know it, but please recall that on the day of the tragedy the water park was holding an "Elected Official Appreciation Day." Lots of freebies (admission/food/etc.) for KS politicos.

  15. Tony could you please stop using Caleb's face on the Schlitterbahn stuff? It's kind of like when Greg Smith kept running for office in Kansas and used his dead daughters face on his political flyers.
Let the dead be dead and get on with life. Use Jeff Henry's face is you need a face to show.

    1. Uh oh. Then no MLK tributes on anything, because, you know, HE was KILLED! Take Abe off of the penny, John off of the half dollars, and all the dead presidents plus EVERYONE has to have no published likenesses who died by any means considered an unnatural cause.

  18. I thought the TKC COMMUNITY SEYZ that only blacks should be admitted so they could either shoot themselves or be decapitated, win-win.

So I think you're mischaracterizing things.

  19. So the park is similar to Oceans of Fun. How are the rides failing? I’ve been only once and didn’t feel unsafe.

  21. FUBAR UNFAIR!5/24/18, 12:20 PM

Vehicle manufacturers haven't prosecuted CEOs and engineers for all the many thousands of fatalities, and the millions of injuries caused by their "rides". There's been concealed and frauded performance and safety data uncovered in their industry. Sadly, lives were ended and disabled by killer air bags, junk ignition switches, transmission lags, acceleration glitches, exploding tires, self driving deathtraps, engine fires, and other dangerous crap!

It took way more than a single death and a few injuries to get those car makers and parts suppliers to recall products and to pay settlements.
