More Kansas City name game news at a presser today touting a questionable redevelopment that's costing this town about $40-million to start.
KEMPER ARENA WILL NOW BE CALLED HY-VEE ARENA BY GOOGLE MAPS AND NOBODY ELSE FOR YEARS!!!
Money line:
“Hy-Vee Arena is a perfect way for us to celebrate our 30 years of service in the metro, and it will be a fitting extension of our brand in the heart of Kansas City,” says Drew Holmes, Hy-Vee senior regional vice president.
As part of the deal, the Hy-Vee name will be displayed inside and outside the building and featured on video boards throughout the arena.
They're putting in basketball courts, a track, a fitness club and some offices in the rehab that's supposed to attract youngsters who want to enjoy the beautiful West Bottoms scenery. They say progress is about 70% complete.

Developing . . .
It will work.
ReplyDeleteIf you call getting constant subsidy from Kansas City "working".
No longer owned by the city so I guess the new owners can call it whatever they want.
ReplyDeleteI did noticed they didn't reach out and say hey we will rename it after MLK either.
Hy Hand Job. Where there is a helpful hand job in every aisle.
ReplyDeleteWell there goes our opportunity to name the dump the Martin Luther King Jr. Arena. Back to the drawing board (if it must be, I still favor renaming Emmanuel Cleaver II Blvd.).
ReplyDelete^^^ Ouch. Have to admit you have a point there.
ReplyDelete^^Ouch, have to admit this blog is nothing more than a despot for complaining geezers. None of you washed up bastards will ever make it down there.
ReplyDeleteYou will because you probably find it trendy to give reach arounds in the West Bottoms.
Delete^^^^^ Why would we want to and see people such as you there?
ReplyDelete^^^ Ewwwwwwwwwwwww.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder Hyvee prices are so high, they are sponsoring worthless arenas like the Kemper.
ReplyDeleteHyvee should give all their employees a raise if they have money to throw around like a basketball. How long before there is a shooting in that parking lot ?
ReplyDelete^^You should really change your diaper, because you're just talking shit now.
ReplyDelete^^^ And you're waiting with baited breath coprophilia boy.

VACANT?
I am confused.
^^You're confused easily because you're old. It's vacant because it's not open yet. Read it again, try to comprehend it. Nobody has any kind of time to help you!
ReplyDeleteThe only Hy-Vee in KC proper is on 75th N Oak. Jeesh. Get more stores in Kansas City, the actual City in Missouri.
