Kansas City NBA Team Speculation Spikes

Seattle is actually ahead in these talks because Seattle wants their b-ball team back . . . Nevertheless, check a bit of local history on the topic:

NBA executive: Kansas City will get NBA team 'at some point'

It sounds like Kansas City has made the short list to land an NBA team. Jarrett Sutton of the SEC Network spoke to an anonymous NBA executive on Friday, who said that Kansas City "will get an NBA team at some point."

  1. They've been telling us that since the Sprint Center vote.

  3. Because of the recent SCOTUS decision about gambling and with the success of the Las Vegas NHL team and the fact that the NBA has had All Star games in Vegas my moneys on them. Besides, 41 home games with an average ticket price of $65 the local economy can't and won't support it.

  4. Since the Kings left the year Michael Jordan entered the NBA, KC will get another team the year after Lebron James retires.

  5. Just another attraction for armed urban youth, rap concert light you might call it. With whites in the cross fire, oh boy !

  6. I was hoping for the white man's sport Hockey to be at sprint. Now the darkies and the white people that think a 7 foot guy dunking a basketball into a net is cool.

Question: Did the NBA go over in KC last time it was here? Ha!

  9. To have an NBA or NHL team you have to first have 20 or more S&P 500 companies headquartered in your city. These teams don't want to play to empty arenas and the tickets are high priced, usually at least $40-60 per ticket minimum, some at least $100.
They sell ticket packages to companies not individuals. It's a thing companies use to get their clients to realize they are a big deal.
KC will never again have NBA or NHL teams that have names starting with "Kansas City". Just keep the concerts and Disney on Ice coming to the Sprint/T-Mobile center.
Oh, I could be wrong, if we have a really, really good streetcar system they might come.

  12. We don't need an NBA team anymore than we need a hockey team. Both ideas have failed. KC is not a sports mecca. If it was, don't you think someone would have plunked down the millions of dollars needed to develop said sports?
