Here's an essential bit of local journalism that offers balance and insight into a social justice struggle.
Real talk . . .
UPCOMING SOCIAL JUSTICE CRACKDOWN AGAINST LANDLORDS IN KANSAS CITY WILL ACTUALLY REDUCE THE NUMBER OF LOCAL AFFORDABLE HOUSING OPTIONS!!!
The reality is that SJWs don't have any clue about what it takes to eek out a profit by renting property and they'll be driving quite a few people out of biz THEREBY making life even harder on the people they claim to represent.

Everything is the landlords fault........ not
ReplyDeleteOne good thing will come out of this, you’ll find out how the subhuman species really lives, ewwwww, that’s gross! I hope those poor inspectors wear tyvex suits when they go into those houses! I guess their shots need to be up to date too! Lmao!
ReplyDeleteMost of these "social justice activists" don't have a clue about how the world really works, have never had actual jobs in the private sector, place no emphasis on personal responsibility or behavior, and offer no real solutions to much of any problems other than giving away someone else's money or property.
ReplyDeleteJust go make some signs, march around, take some selfies, and feel sanctimonious!
It's just what they do.
ReplyDeleteI'm a landlord and there is no teeth in this BS, it's illegal and no one can tell a landlord to have an inspection. Do this and there will be either no place to rent or the city will get a lawsuit! 2,000 signatures????? LOL that doesn't do squat!
All the folks claiming to be "landlords" have nothing to worry about at all.
ReplyDeleteIf you really are a landlord, simply bring the places you rent up to a minimum lever of fitness to live in and you'll pass inspection easily.
Personally, I'd like to see a law requiring the "landlord" to spend three days actually living in a rental before he or she moves another tenant in. That would clear up a lot of the problems without any inspections being necessary.
You're an idiot. Most of the people renting these slums couldnt afford the rent if the landlord had to maintain the property in better condition. This will just lead to less affordable rentals and more homeless people. Just another stupid idea from the braintrust called city council and dumb eastside activists.
Delete8:02, KCK has had an inspection program in place for a number of years and nobody has sued anyone. Inspectors are decent people and I have found them easy to get along with but maybe that's because who I'm associated with keeps his places looking nice
ReplyDeleteThese social justice warriors... there's always a trade off. "Justice" for one person often equals "injustice" for some unseen person. This shit is going to backfire big-time someday. And in the history books they'll write that this social identity politics and police of speech and social justice stuff was what started it all.
ReplyDeleteDecent homeowners don't filthy and rough what they pay for and hope to build ROI plus equity. It is work, W.! O.! R.! K.! to own ANY domicile WORTH having. Yes, even new and well built CUSTOM homes with all the BLINGY LASTEST THINGIES DO NOT MAINTAIN THEMSELVES. Ya gotta budget in projects and upkeep, hire skilled help, learn some DIY shit, and treat stuff with respect. Almost every average OKAY built cribs are gonna be 1.the great to fairly wise investment, 2.an unlucky money pit too long or for awhile, OR, PERHAPS, 3.somewhere in between.
ReplyDelete^And, renting is fine for many who have no desire or their lifestyle doesn't fit mortgages and maintenance! That's cool!
DeleteMaybe we need more section ape housing
