Does Kansas City Hate The Northland???

More on this one later but quite a few denizens of our blog community believe that the mishandling of the bridge issue is just another instance of revenge against the great white North:

SB Buck O'Neil bridge closed for repairs

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The southbound lanes of the Buck O'Neil bridge were closed to traffic for temporary repairs about 2:00 a.m. Saturday. The Bridge will remain closed through December 1st. The Missouri Department of Transportation is set to begin a rehabilitation project in three phases. All southbound traffic was closed this morning.

  1. Fixing the bridge as revenge?? That's the Idiotic Theory of the day. Would they rather have a fatal bridge collapse?!

  4. Closing off the bridge to all traffic is a disgrace. Shame on MODot. They should have done something more effective. They would rather block all northland traffic than keep up their bridges. KC is only partially to blame. MO dot is the real villain.

  5. The Northland should secede from shithole Kansas City. Kansas City views the northland as tax revenue and a dumping ground for their criminal section 8 welfare hood rats.

  6. Agree with @6:45 - let's see how "Baja KC" gets along without 50% of its area, 42% of its population, and 61.57% of its tax revenues.

  7. Those statistics are not the issue, the problem is leadership with a south and east focus. The northland is only something to endure on the way to the airport.

  8. No, it’s called infrastructure repair. You complaining bitches find something else to cry about.

  9. First off, it is The Broadway Bridge, just like to the east it is the Paseo Bridge. Stop naming things after people, these are points of GEOGRAPHY, not tombstones.

  10. It is the other way around, the North hates the south. The "city" continues to export it's problems north. As a 50 year resident of the north I ovoid going south of the river, that is where the problems are. Dynamite all the bridges, we in northland would be better off.

  11. I would never live in north KC. Not because there aren’t good places but because of government. Go a little further north and live a better life.

  12. ^^Bye bitch. Tell your story walking.

  13. Does the Northland hate KCMO?

  14. @ 5:12pm, certain parts of KCMO. Know it.

  15. There is a misconception about living in the Northland. Mostly from people who have never ventured there, except to go to and from the airport. Once we had good schools. Once we had fairly safe neighborhoods and convenient shopping. Once.....

    De-annex NOW.
