COUNCIL CUTS TROY'S PURSE STRINGS!!!

Payback for the top bureaucrat at City Hall powering the current development agenda . . . Here's the Council bringing about the end of one of KCMO's most influential spenders/leaders:

KC Council approves compromise to trim city manager's spending authority

The Kansas City Council voted unanimously Thursday to trim city staff's power to sign contracts without council authorization, an issue that triggered tensions between City Manager Troy Schulte and some council members. In its final form, the ordinance is a more moderate version of the one introduced in November by its sponsor, Councilman Quinton Lucas.

  1. Sounds like Lucas only obtained a parcel of what he wanted. What is he doing “negotiating” with the city manager? The City Manager works for the council. It is the City Manager’s job to do what he is told!

Now the council can pull that string on the convention hotel finances. Hire someone that knows what the fuck they are doing to explain it. The result? The termination and prosecution of Troy Schulte. I guarantee it. Troy pulled so much wool over the councils eyes.

Councilmembers put your newfound power and focus to good use.

Troy is a certified full fledged pathetic SLIME BALL , useless to the citizens of Kansas City, Missouri !!!!!!!!!!!!

    isn't that right - TROY BOY !!!!!!

  5. Hey 8:00.. I believe Troy is all that you say, but only because the council allows it. I’ve heard that hotel deal would NOT survive a proper vetting. The council should grab their balls and have one done. There is a reason the term sheets were so limited. I just do not understand the unwillingness of all the attorneys on the council not to order an experienced review.

  6. The council needs to address this lingering hotel financing issue AND order a post mortem study of why KC was not shortlisted for the Amazon HQ2 while our peer cities were!!! Indianapolis, Columbus, Memphis were shortlisted and now have all the street cred that comes with that shortlist ranking. Safe to say those cities have managers that are not learning on the job.

It’s a shameful scenario given our current tech presence and all the civic pride we are know for.

  7. Council has a long history of corruption croneyism. This council has no business running a city with a $1.7 billion budget.

  8. Troy once said he is the COO of the City and just implements the wishes of the Council...
This is his way of saying "I do not take responsibility for these decisions, I only help these folks implement them"
    Pathetic.

  9. The city manager is only as good as the city council who employs him. The city council is only as good as the public who vote them in. Cowtown has exactly what we deserve.

  10. The KC STAR and Business Joirnal are also to blame for not exposing all this shit, all this corruption and all this croneyism. That city hall reporter for The Star, Bill Turque, is just plain lazy. The stories are right in front of him.
