As usual, the New York Times is leading the local political discourse far better than any local news outlet and so this election insight from a Kansas City power broker is worth featuring according to the denizens of our blog community . . .
CHECK KANSAS CITY POLITICAL JUGGERNAUT JEFF ROE ADVOCATING FOR PREZ TRUMP LOYALTY IN THE NEW YORK TIMES!!!
Here's the word that might be an indication of serious challenges to the current administration given that Mr. Roe & Axiom have always done better in the long run than most of their candidates:
The premise:
President Trump may not be on the ballot in November, but the election will be a referendum on him, as 2010 was on President Barack Obama and 2006 was on President George W. Bush. We will lose seats. The only question is this: Will these losses be catastrophic or manageable?
That will be determined by a very specific choice: Will the party retreat from its leader or fix bayonets and storm to the front with him?
No one fought Mr. Trump harder and longer than I did, as the campaign manager for Ted Cruz’s 2016 campaign for the Republican nomination. I know the maddening brilliance of Mr. Trump. I also know history doesn’t favor the president’s party in midterm elections.

8:32 Spot On! To the fact that Mr. Roe knows the current scene, you can add that he knows a great deal of history, especially, Missouri electoral history. Having gone from getting Sam Graves into the U. S. House, where he remains, to the BIG TIME, quite a journey. Now if only The Stupid Party will listen to him!

ReplyDeleteIMHO, Jeff Roe and his gang are incapable of running an inspired uplifting campaign.
They have twisted so many facts for so long that the word is out on their lack of performance success. Apparently, their dirty tricks in the Alabama Senate Race have been identified and probably contributed to Repub loss.
Locally, they specialize in misrepresenting opponents record and accuse their opponent of the misdeeds of his own client. Bending the law is a specialty for Roe.
Jeff Roe flagrantly violated Missouri Law in Clay County special election, August 8, 2017, Youth services tax special election. Proponents complied with Missouri Campaign Financing Laws.
No public opposition and no opposition campaign committee appeared in evidence.
Election day hundreds of voters come to polls with false and misleading opposition talking points.
Clay Children's Services tax passes by half a percent.
Normally, special elections for schools, bond issues, etc., receive little opposition and pass easily.
Jackson County, August 2016, election, youth services tax passes with 60% approval.
Post election conclusion that thousands of anonymous computer phone calls were made by Roe and his Axiom Strategy that violated Missouri law by failing to establish a campaign committee and disclose contributions.
The Star has zero interest in exposing this corruption. Where are Jenne' Hoopz, Sanchez, Kraske and Helling.
Mr. Roe must be doing something RIGHT if all the useful idiots hate him so! Al Davis said it best: "Win baby, win!" You damn Bolsheviks can't win at the ballot box, so the fall back is stage a fake scandal and try for a show trial. What must really irritate you is that DJT or Mr. Roe could buy and sell all of you combined. Bunch of unhappy true believer LOSERS!
