TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY 'MARCH FOR OUR LIVES' BUILDS EPIC COALITION FOR UPCOMING ANTI-GUN RIGHTS DEMONSTRATION!!!

Right now iconic hottie JPenny speaks to our true feelings about gun control underneath this bloggy cloak of objectivity . . . Inasmuch as we believe that if guns were breasteses they deserve to be respected, treated with care, caution, safety and, yes, freedom . . . And only tastefully unsheathed.

But I digress . . .

THE KANSAS CITY ANTI-GUN "MARCH FOR OUR LIVES" BUILDS AN EPIC COALITION FOR UPCOMING SATURDAY RALLY!!!

So far our TKC blog community is the FIRST and only real local blog to report on the topic with something more important than promotional cut & paste.

Checkit:

Two groups have combined forces as tech dude Mohammad Azeem of the Kansas Democratic Party has built an impressive local coalition to march in KC Proper.

A few fun facts . . .

- More than 5K people on FB promise to attend with more than 10K interested . . . Which means they're at least getting 2 dozen real life old school white ladies!!!

- Explanation of the collabo - Due to the overwhelming turnout interest (and a conflicting event scheduled at Mill Creek/JC Nichols Park), the event will be held across from the Nelson-Atkins, in Theis Park! Please update your calendar events accordingly. :)

Here's a reference list of local groups (mostly Democratic Party affiliated & Progressive activists) who have signed onto the anti-gun gathering:

March with the students in Kansas City hosted by:

PeaceWorksKC
Moms Demand Action - MO
Moms Demand Action - KS

League of Women Voters Johnson County
Urban Ranger Corps
SURJ KC - Showing Up for Racial Justice, Kansas City

Finally, the mission statement:

A march to say "Enough!" We must protect Americans, American lives. Weapons are not more important than people.

We are gathering at Theis Park in Kansas City on Saturday, March 24 from noon to 4 pm as part of the nationwide effort to advocate for weapons reform. It is past time elected officials put the lives of Americans above the donations from the NRA and above profits for weapons manufacturers..

Let's join together to make a change for our future!

  1. Oh, I'm thinking they'll get a ton of people onboard for this march. Maybe even some of the late spring break crowd.

Anti-gun is cool now thanks to big media.

    4. ^^^ Ugh. New low.

Guns are a serious subject and this march is going to get thousands of attendees.

This is an important moment in the struggle to make our nation a more civilized society and safe for all people. As usual, only the jerks and haters are on the wrong side of history.

And let's not forget what little impact that women's march had over the ensuing elections.

This looks like the same thing.

    1. The right to peacefully assemble is the 1st Amendment. Those who oppose this march are the ones with a problem with the constitution.

    2. Go ahead ... feel free to stand in the rain all day. I myself will use this time to reload a couple hundred 12 gauge shells as my counter argument to you protest.

  3. .... but its a grassroots movement...3/20/18, 9:30 AM

maybe change the protest to 45th & cleveland, but i guess theis park is three blocks from planned parenthood which murders millions of americans which would be cool too i guess

  4. Orphan of the Road3/20/18, 9:32 AM

The Second Amendment is going nowhere, the right to bear arms can be regulated, few journalists know squat about weapons, and the NRA is just a PR group for the manufactures to reap blood money from world-wide, illegal arm sales.

Of course there is money to be made so the "discussions" will continue with naught accomplished.

    ReplyDelete
  5. ^^Wrong @9:29AM, stupid response. No one is shredding the constitution. Idiot. NRA talking points & we are so far beyond that now. No one is listening to that outdated rhetoric. Criticize it all you want, but you are on the wrong side of history now. We will no longer entertain this kind of stupidity. Come back when you can speak like an adult on the topic.

    1. Let me guess... you want "something like Australia" which was a mass confiscation of guns. Sounds like the destruction of the Second Amendment to me.

      Delete
    2. Would speaking like an adult on the topic mean actually doing something about gun crime where it kills people every day, in the hood?

No, of course not. You're a joke, and so is this march. You'll scream about bump stocks, and do nothing about actual gun violence because it might be considered racist.

  6. ^^Go away Jr. That post is as tired as you are. Nobody has any kind of time for worthless white-trash like trying to feel better about your wretched position in life!

  8. Great. I was putting off buying an AR-15, but now I feel I need to get one before it is too late. With the democrats acting bat shit crazy regarding immigration, a duly elected president, Hillary's anti-white rhetoric, BLM, ANTIFA, high taxes, and other anti-America crap, I feel like I'm gonna need it sooner or later when shit hits the fan.

  9. i had no idea there were that many worthless organizations that do nothing whatsoever. There wer over 20 of tem on that list. What have any of them ever accomplished. I hope the night of the march, at least 5 hood rats shoot and kill each other.

Bothers me. Seems a full o'shit statement on many levels.

  12. Listen to all these triggered repubtard shitflakes melting down about others expressing their 1st amendment rights!!!!!!

  13. ... Guns are not the problem. Societal rot is.

I love all the big Stars jumping in on the Band the Gun bandwagon.
They make big money playing with guns in movies and TV. I think they should demand that no more guns be used in film and TV. That would do a lot more good than anything else they could do.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Gosh I just checked my calendar and I won't be able to attend. I'll be doing nothing which is a better waste of my time than marches or candle light vigils. Those things do nothing except make organizers and attendee's feel good about themselves and get maybe 15 - 20 seconds of news time on TV. Nothing is getting accomplished and watching B-ball on TV is a better use of my time.

    ReplyDelete
  15. We are democrats, we like to encourage ppl to blame racial violence on the police, not the mthr fckrs who stick ppl in jail for ten years for an ounce of weed.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Great, all the fascist and neo-Nazi groups in Kansas City marching to trample our rights. Fuck them, they're the reason we have guns, fucking totalitarian assholes.

    ReplyDelete
  17. NOT the mthr fckrs that craft laws, that the police are morally obliged to uphold, to stick ppl in jail for ten years for an ounce of weed.

  40. TEXTING and TANKED DRIVERS ARE DEADLIER!3/20/18, 3:33 PM

Reported on March 20,2018 (less than 3 months) there are almost 2700 drunk driving deaths, nearly 1300 deaths from texting while driving, and just reported today,also--2475 MURDERS BY GUN!

WHERE'S THE BIG-TIME TALKING HEADS ON MSM, THE MARCHERS, THE BILLBOARDS, THE RADIO HOURS, SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES, AND POLITICIANS' LECTURES, AND HOLLYWOOD ELITES' FUNDRAISERS--for the safety of America's little children, pedestrians, cyclists, and all travelling public?!

THE CARS AND THE PHONES AREN'T TO BE BLAMED...BUT, CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR AND NEGLIGENCE IS!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. ^^STAY ON TOPIC YOU DUMBASS!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. NOT GUNS, BUT MENTAL CASES AND BADDIES ARE TO BLAME!3/20/18, 5:06 PM

      That's the topic: DUMBASSES!

Holding up signs and marching around hollering about how guns have to be controlled while IGNORING that vehicles and phones, used improperly, does much more killing than people using guns, IS being a DUMBASS.

Just watch. The under 21 voters and their allies, who are hunters, are active duty, are veterans, and are believers in constitutional rights will not permit raising age requirements for gun buys. By their ballots at election time and giving revenues to non-fascist states where 18 to 20 year olds can still buy guns, is how sensible rights and sales revenues will do the talking.

If GI Joes and GI Janes can get gun skilled at 18 yrs old for service to the nation, then every American citizen (not felons, and not certified nutjobs) starting at 18 should be allowed to buy a gun.

3:33 makes a point. Driving is a privilege and not a right guaranteed by the Constitution.

And it is a pretty poor job the government does regulating cars and drivers.

Only consensus possible on this blog is speech I don't agree with should be prevented. Left and Right agree with that bit.

    ReplyDelete
  43. You will see more people at the range than this march. Bet they will be handing out Tide pods.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Firearms aren't a right guaranteed by the Constitution either unless you are part of a "well regulated militia" defending the free state.

Compare that to the 1st amendment where it states "Congress will make no law respecting..."

That board language does not appear in the 2nd making the enumerated right to firearms quite limited.

If gun rights were meant to be fully guaranteed, the founding fathers would have added firearms to the list of items in the 1st amendment.

Universally guaranteed items include free exercise of religion, speech, press, to peaceably assemble, and petition the Government. Not guns.

    ReplyDelete
  45. 5:03 you forgot the rest of the sentence dickhead

“the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Give it up you can’t win! Lmao!

    ReplyDelete
  46. ^^^ Hey dumb ass, read the first sentence of the 2nd amendment.

It's the clause that defines WHO and HOW the right is extended. REGULATED MILITIA. DEFENDING THE FREE STATE. Those specific circumstances will not be infringed by the federal government.

Also in case you don't know what REGULATED means, the state can define who can and can not participate. Access to guns is not at all guaranteed.

YOU can't win. Bans are coming and the 2nd amendment as written can't stop them. Keep laughing you stupid jackass.

    ReplyDelete
  47. 6:15 dear dumbass, No amount of your progressive thinking can bend the law to suit your losing agenda. We will always win and retards like you will always lose!

The 2nd amendment has been unchanged for 242 years and all of a sudden you think your interpretation is right, good luck with that!

    ReplyDelete
  48. ^^^^Im sorry you’re dumb, but your lack of Constitutional knowledge is staggering. You are giving credence to to the theory that most gun owners are morons and I’m a gun owner! You are in over your head and probably should stop embarrassing yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I understand the desire to keep kids (and all citizens) as safe as possible. But I just can’t help thinking that even if tougher laws are in place, weapons will still end up in the wrong hands if the perpetrator is determined to act.

    ReplyDelete
  54. The Supreme Court has allowed many gun laws, regulations on sellers and users, and even bans to be enacted. All ruled constitution.

Conservative Chief Justice Burger said the NRA interpretation is a FRAUD.

Access to firearms is not a guaranteed right.

No amount of distorting history and calling people morons will change the facts.

    ReplyDelete
  55. And Justice Burger is DEAD DEAD DEAD. And was WRONG WRONG WRONG. Just saying.

    ReplyDelete
  56. ^^^ So is Scalia, the most wrong justice in history, so that's not a very convincing argument.

Nether is having a fit and yelling WRONG, WRONG....

Free history lesson for you: Precedent matters.

Restricting gun access has been ruled constitution far more often than not.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Triggered communist bot right there! You win loser of the year award hands down for your ignorant ramblings, NRA for life bitch!

    ReplyDelete
