KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The former Crispus Attucks Elementary School has new owners who have big plans for the space. The City of Kansas City announced Thursday it sold the school to the Zhou Brothers, internationally renowned contemporary artists, teachers, and lecturers, who are planning to convert the school into a new cultural arts center.

  1. Big box stores always protest that their county property appraisals are too high. Nothing new here. Long story short I bet the county intentionally stacks a higher appraisal and do it on purpose and then cut the figure to what it should be and the stores go ok we'll pay it and the county still gets what they wanted in the first place. Everyone should protest their property appraisals just on a matter of principle. The county is looking for more of your hard earn tax dollars to play with. To make it all look good for them they like to run out what the schools would lose to make a property owner feel guilty so they pay up minus a protest.

  3. 1:08 I did exactly that, I had refinanced my house in 2015 and my appraisal was lower than the county’s by $10,000. I brought it to their attention and they told me they couldn’t change until 2017 because they only appraise property’s every two years. I sent them a copy last year and they eventually lowered it to match my appraisal. They got two extra years out of me because of how it fell during there cycle which I think is complete b.s.
