KCTV5: Last week, Kansas City police reached out to more than 100 teenagers and preteens who had been in the district unsupervised after hours.
Money line . . .
No one was hurt last weekend, but this summer the Kansas City Police Department will be reaching out to families through its department social worker, Gina English.
"It's not a matter of the Plaza," English said. "It's that they went to the movies or they went with their friends. Metro wide, we could start finding more about what is available to have safe and welcoming environments to hang out."
English says the city is looking for more ways to offer safe places for kids to have fun after hours on the weekends.

ReplyDeleteMaybe this Gina English should ask the police departments in other parts of the metro why places like Zona Rosa, Oak Park and Town Center don’t have to close early and don’t have customers being intimidated while shopping/dining there on weekends. To my knowledge, none of the areas where these places are located have special activities for their teens. Instead, their teens can mingle with other patrons because they’ve been raised to be civilized in public places.

There were 150 or so murders last year in KC. about 75 get solved and about 75 to 85% of those murders involve black perps.
The take away is that around 80% or more, of violent crime - indeed all crime - is committed by blacks who are 12% of the population.

Until the parent (or grandma) is tasked with supervising their child, is anything going to happen?
