This morning the Examiner reminds us that County candidates can file beginning Monday but that's just half of the story . . .
JACKSON COUNTY INSIDERS WARN THAT QUITE A FEW PRIMARIES THREATEN INCUMBENT POLITICOS AFTER A TUMULTUOUS YEAR FOR COURTHOUSE POLITICS!!!
Here's the word . . .
"Get ready for some exciting races in this county for the first time in a long time. There will be hard fought Democratic primaries and November elections that will be a lot of fun to watch."
Already we've seen Jackson County Lady Crystal panic in open session about the prospect of competition . . . And there's also a bit of ongoing gossip that Exec Frank White will back candidates to compete against some of his fiercest critics . . . To be fair, he denies the talk but the coming week will reveal if he kept his word.

ReplyDeleteA lot of VOTERS think that it's time to clean house at the County. Crystal isn't the worst of the offenders.
It would be nice to see some change in the cast of characters.
Filing is on Tuesday, not Monday. The Examiner got this wrong.

ReplyDeleteThe cat is out of the bag. The dude got into county politics claiming he was going to be a reformer. But he has since misappropriated funds left and right, and we now know he has mismanaged his personal finances so badly he needed convicted felon Mike Sanders to work out a secret deal to bail his ass out.
Frank couldn't get a gig that pays him 150K anywhere else after he blew his sweet deal with the Royals. But the stupid voters in Jackson County somehow thought he was qualified to be CEO.
Frank will be 68 this year. He should be retiring. And Caleb obviously can't get a job elsewhere. They will do everything possible to hang around the courthouse longer.

ReplyDeleteI can't listen to them call for the governor's resignition, while they've got a leader in Frank White who committed perjury the first time he ran for office, who won't tell us who he owes for saving his sorry ass from foreclosure (through a deal Sleazy Mike Sanders brokered), and who has been buying trucks and who knows what else with tax money that's supposed to go toward anti-drug programs.
Before you going trying to fix the state or federal government, you Jackson County Democrats need to clean your own shithole house.
Who is covering the ongoing legal battle between Frank and the Legislature? How much money has been spent on attorney fees so far and by whom? What a waste.

ReplyDeleteLook at the people Frank White has picked to be closest to him as County exec. Caleb Clifford and Angie Jeffries and, working behind the scenes, Mike Sanders. Frank is misappropriating funds to keep Caleb and Angie around after they got cut from the budget, and he has kept Sanders' tradition of stealing from COMBAT alive.

DeleteI've been to a couple of events where Frank White spoke. The guy is a crappy speaker, not too bright.
ReplyDeleteWhat caught my eye both times was this blonde woman with him, not because she's attractive (she's not) but because she seemed to be Frank's "handler." It was kind of embarrassing. I wondered if she cuts his meat when he is at a dinner.
Then I found out this was the Angie Jeffries I've seen mentioned here in the comments, and she is the county's communications director.
Then I wondered how much of my county property taxes are going toward paying her county salary.
Think Frank passed the hat around to get his property taxes up to date before he files?

ReplyDeleteI hope Jim Rowland doesn't file to run. He worked as a recruiter in St Louis and it didn't end well. The VP of the company made a surprise visit and it didn't end well.
