As the big game approaches, one of the reverent local bloggers shares football sacrilege.
Take a look:
Bill Tammeus: How much God gives a flip about the Super Bowl
Money line:
"NFL football, I've decided, is a brutal game that harbors misogynists, encourages needless violence and winds up giving brain injuries to otherwise-healthy young men -- all for profit."
In the heartland, this kind of talk is near blasphemy but deserves consideration as an alternative perspective yet still a view that's becoming more commonplace as parents refuse to let their youngsters play football.
You decide . . .
Bill kinda has a point but he's trolling football fans.
ReplyDeleteWell done.
Many of the football players are traitors.
ReplyDelete7:07 Bill is also a Catholic Basher, and trolls them too regularly.
ReplyDeleteThese are grown men, not young people. The money they are paid are some of the highest salaries in the world. let's not get too high and mighty here because we know that very few people would turn down that kind of financial benefit even if it cost them their health. It happens all the time for much less money.
ReplyDeleteAs for the super bowl. The commercials are too long and the game is ussually a disappointment so Tammeus actually has a really good point.
Tammeus is a troll, and collaborator with atheists.
ReplyDeleteAnd a commie!
ReplyDeleteGod loves football, but he doesn’t give a fuck which team wins. He just wants a good game and for everyone to stand during the anthem.
ReplyDeleteGod is more of a bread man than a circus guy. However, he likely understands the role each plays.
ReplyDeleteGod hates phoney fans who claim that they stopped watching because of “protests”. He also hates geezers, that’s why he kills them every day.
ReplyDelete7:54, comments like yours make me look forward to reading TKC. Thank you for the Saturday morning smile.
ReplyDeleteI know football is bad about brain injuries. But I will still watch Sunday--because I want to see Tom Brady win just one more.
He does not appear to have TCE, no anger issues. (I do worry about Travis Kelce.)
And it's exciting to see people extend their careers beyond the expected retirement time. Same for Ben Rothlesberger--I was hoping he'd have made it to this SuperBowl. I celebrate the triumph of people who can see the bigger picture, spot ONE opportunity, react quickly and make the next strategic move. (The opposite of Sly James and the KCMO Council, and many other government bodies.)
And I loved how Tom Brady immediately defended his daughter, yet then had the GRACE and maturity to say, the next day, the radio reporter should not lose his job over making such an unfair comment, calling Vivian a pissant brat.
A class act. I'm also watching Sunday, hoping for some commercials featuring GOATs.
Glad I could make you smile:)
DeleteI question the faith of Bill Tammeus.
ReplyDelete^^^^I question your mental capacity.
ReplyDeleteI have to buy my bread so what is wrong with a little free circus ?
ReplyDeleteHold on I thought God loved Notre Dame. Does Bill hate the NBA also?
ReplyDeleteIt's better than your's I'm sure 11:23
