An impressive think piece from a national media source takes recent city council action to task . . . Here's more insightful reporting than most of what local media has offered and certainly more critical than local pundits corrupted by their political & financial alliances. Yet another liberal fantasyland piece that doesn't mention black people or the social problems (crime, violence, diseases) they bring.
ReplyDeleteDream on. We'll stay here in the real world.
Wonderful. Now, when is the city going to repair our sidewalks as promised in when the GO bonds passed?
ReplyDeleteLimiting the right to carry a concealed weapon by a felon law is already in place. In fact, I bet there are laws in effect that would deal with 99% of any issues due to someone carrying a gun in Westport. No new laws are needed but a private police force can't enforce those laws that's why I said earlier without a police force to deal with those who fail to pass a security checkpoint the whole idea is stupid.
ReplyDeleteWill the businesses be forced to pay fair prices to buy the streets from the city and from that point on be responsible for the upkeep and things like snow removal?
This view by Vox is rather lame in my honest opinion.
Liberals! Liberals! Liberals!...Ugh...Ugh...I shit my self!
ReplyDeleteVox clearly didn't read the actual agreement before writing this article. Makes numerous assertions that contradict the agreement and merely restates unfounded concerns posed by local organizations that have alternative motives. Street vacations happen all the time in the City, which don't provide an easement for continued public use like Westport has agreed too, yet you don't hear bikewalk kc or other groups up in arms about those vacations. Also, how many law abiding bicycle riders take an evening ride during 11pm to 4am? Seems hysterical that Bikewalk kc would oppose this.
ReplyDeleteWell that article was complete bullshit. Legal gun carriers are not the problem. The problem is illegal gun carrying thugs. State law already allows for private business to restrict concealed weapons on private property, hence the reason to privatize.
ReplyDeleteYes but they can't arrest you for carrying. Only tell you to leave . If you refuse then that's another issue.
DeleteBut they can prohibit any gun in a private area. The gangsters will have to go somewhere else. Rights infringed? I don't think so.
ReplyDelete^^Yes, but will we be able to shit ourselves there like we do here? That's what I want to know dammit!
ReplyDeleteHours between 11 pm and 4 am
ReplyDeleteStill ignoring the root problem.
Coprophilia boy's baaaaaaack!
ReplyDeleteClose all the shithole bars @ 1:00 for a start thern ya' only have to privatize 11:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m..
ReplyDeleteRotate the privatization of streets each week end, start with Prospect.
