Here's a reality check which confirms our suspicions about politics and the Kansas City metro and even amid a mediocre season . . .
KC Biz Journal: Breaking with a league-wide trend, attendance at Kansas City Chiefs home games this season is up.
An average of 75,419 fans have attended each game at Arrowhead Stadium this year, according to data compiled by the SportsBusiness Journal, an increase of 2.4 percent from last year.
Let's put it in a political context, remember September when fans were burning gear because of national anthem protest . . .
Turns out that even in amid a 5-game losing streak, really great weather and a quarterback controversy . . . Kansas City Chiefs fans remain loyal to their team or at least the hope of playoff victory that may or may not go up in smoke this weekend.
Developing . . .
the tv ratings are down nationally but there has never been a lot of interest in the Chiefs outside of the metro area.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, I'd argue that the games are really just a social event and they could be for a rodeo, country music or anything. The tailgating has more fans than the game. It's just an excuse to party and that's a good thing for the Chiefs because their "Kingdom" always loses in the clutch.
^^^^You have no idea what the fuck you’re talking about. Ever even been to a game tard? You’re just like every idiot on this blog who claims to be “boycotting” the Chiefs...a fucking moron.
ReplyDeleteChef’s fans are fucking morons
ReplyDeleteTKC posters are morons.
ReplyDeleteBut we are classy morons!
ReplyDeleteWhich one are you 7:28? Moron for posting or.....
ReplyDeleteKC was never going to boycott the Chiefs. What else is there to do in this B.s. town?
ReplyDeleteFuck the NFL.
ReplyDeleteMost fans bought season tickets the boycott will show up if there’s a playoff game and next year.
ReplyDeleteAnd more than 75k waste their hard earned money supporting losers and thugs who make more in one week than most fans do.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen this many empty seats at Arrowhead since the 80s. They may be sold but people are staying home. Even Andy Reid has bitched about it. Ignore the numbers and look at the empty seats.
ReplyDelete^^^ Excellent point. I've seen the empty stands too. There's definitely something up with these numbers. If you give the report the benefit of the doubt then a lot of people just aren't showing up to redeem their season tickets.
ReplyDeleteIf the Chiefs lose against the Chargers, the remaining games will be mostly seen by tumbleweeds.
^ true dat.
ReplyDeleteThey go by tickets sold, not butts in the seats
ReplyDeleteA lot of people go just to tailgate and get drunk with their buddies
ReplyDeleteI go to see all the sluts and to get drunk
ReplyDeleteAs bad as the Chiefs have been since mid-October, they are still winning more than Trump.
ReplyDeleteForget the Chiefs. Trump can't even win in Alabama!!! HAHAHAHAHA.
ReplyDeleteHow's that MAGA working out?
It's working out great. I've made close to a hundred grand in my 401k just this year. MAGA - Go Trump!
ReplyDeleteI'm calling bullshit! There's no way there's more fans this year than last year and last year was down from the year before there are too many empty seats just because corporate buys season tickets in bulk and can't give them away you can't count those in the attendance that's bullshit
