Our blog community brought the specifics of this money fight FIRST and now here's an important update and continued outcry regarding public safety in the Northland. Take a look:
Clay County Sheriff's Office concerned by budget cuts
The Clay County sheriff says budget cuts will leave little funding for new vehicles and fuel.
ReplyDeleteNOT SMART!
What a horrible piece of journalism. Where is the other side? He calls out commissioners but there are no interviews? Or did the interviews turn the story into a big nothing?
ReplyDelete@ 7:09, there isn't another side to this story!
ReplyDeleteOwens and Ridgeway, or rather Ridgeway and her wimpy little puppet, simply DO NOT CARE what happens to the County, they're both too busy lining their own pockets before they move on!
I noticed the Sheriff left out the fact that he allows his employees to live outside of Clay County and drive their patrol vehicles home. Several of his deputies live two and three counties away! Parking the patrol vehicles would save thousands of dollars!
ReplyDeleteMore hoodrat crime crossing the river now. Need more money!
ReplyDelete7:56 must be the sheriff
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the new reality.
ReplyDeleteCutting the Sheriff’s budget is ignorant. The population growth up north is expected to hit around 80,000 more the next ten years
ReplyDeleteSorry to be so late responding, @ 9:20 - no, I'm not the Sheriff, but I have voted for him, one of the few Republicans I have ever voted for.
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm just a long-time Clay County resident who's been heartsick for decades over what the "Liberty Mafia" has been doing to the County, and how blatant they've become in diverting tax revenues from matters that benefit the County's residents to "better uses" that only seem to benefit themselves and the few they represent. @ 7:09 am and you, on the other hand, must fit into one of these two categories, since you don't seem to be outraged as every one else is by their shenanigans.
