The most important Q & A of the week attempts to hold a struggling elected official accountable and starts the latest episode of the GOLD STANDARD in Kansas City political discourse . . .
"Mike Shanin interviews Jackson County Executive Frank White about recent problems involving the jail, the Plaza tax evaluation and conflicts with other members of the legislature. Mary Anne Murray Simons, Laura McConwell, Woody Cozad and Jim Heeter follow up on the discussion about problems in Jackson County. They also discuss the recent friction between the City Manager and the Council and KCI."
Take a look:
You decide . . .
Frank needs to think about hanging it up. Nowhere to go but down from here.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I watch RUCKUS I always wonder who will shit themselves first. It makes for a great drinking game.
ReplyDeleteFU geezer hater. That got an honest LULZ out of me.
ReplyDeleteI think I just shit myself.
Frank did a decent job defending himself. He may be a lot less competent than Sly James but he remains far more likeable.
ReplyDeleteZero "heavy" hitters tonight. Yawn.
ReplyDelete^^^ It's not dancing with the stars you cretin.
ReplyDeletedancing with the stars.... I welcome the cretin complement. well done
ReplyDeleteShanin is all class.
ReplyDeleteThe cock of the walk.
A real Big Tuna and King Tomato in this here cowtown.
Wow. Is Frank White full of shit! He keeps talking about not being political, when he politicizes everything. He just doesn't work and play well with others. He just hopes everyone will keep grading him on a curve because he's just a ball player.
ReplyDeleteWhat a crap panel. Frank White has made every problem Jackson County has even worse. How they apparently didn't even know to bring up his asshole Chief of Staff Caleb Clifford is unbelievable. Frank has turned over all authority and power to this little creep. The legislature is trying to hire people to get jobs done the executive isn't doing or politicized because, again, with Frank and Caleb Clifford everything is political. All they talk about is loyalty. They don't give a shit if the work is being done. They just want loyal subjects who cover up just how incompetent Frank White is.
ReplyDeleteSo Frank White is forming a task force to reform the criminal justice system? Christ Jesus.
ReplyDelete@ 6:20 Frank White can't be full of shit. He's too full of himself.
ReplyDeleteThat task force line jumped out at me too. Before Frank goes trying to reform the whole justice system, maybe he ought to be worried about his one direct responsibility, running the jail. Instead of saying "stuff happens in a jail" and "there's no crisis" and ignoring the consultant report that said the place was one of the worst-run jails in the country.
ReplyDeleteHe never answered the question about the Plaza's assessment fiasco. Bottom line is that the owners of the Plaza who are billionaires are getting a MONSTER tax break that normal, KC tax payers will eventually have to pay for. That "assessment" is basically shorting things like the KCPS system millions of dollars.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Plaza isn't the only privately held property getting such a tax break. It happens ALL OVER KCMO. So tax payers are getting cheated out of MILLIONS of dollars that should be going to things like schools, libraries, infrastructure, etc.
Just think, maybe if Burns and Mac, the Plaza, etc paid their fair assessments, we wouldn't need things like the E-Tax and miscellaneous tax increases for libraries and roads and stuff.

You da Man, Mike!
ReplyDeleteI wish Mike had asked how much Frank is paying all his staff, starting with Caleb, all the other chiefs, deputy chiefs, a whole PR staff.
ReplyDeleteThe jail, the Plaza assessment and this, something the local piss-poor excuse of a media hasn't reported: the county is broke. Frank and Caleb have emptied the coffers. But hey Frank was a great player 30 years ago.
