The field of contenders to replace Kansas City Mayor Sly James is growing crowded as quality gives way to quantity.
To wit . . .
LET'S REVIEW THE KANSAS CITY MAYORAL CONTENDERS SO FAR!!!
I'll try to limit my comments because I'm more interested about what our blog community thinks on this election that's still about a year and a half away.
Let's get started . . .
Councilman Scott Wagner
This Northland leader has a surprising amount of support and is closest to the job right now. Here's something everyone is forgetting . . . The Mayor Pro-Tem is a very reasonable dude and likeable, more than any other candidate on this list - It'll be nearly impossible to run a negative campaign against him other than typical KCMO online trolling that almost never influences elections.
Councilman Scott Taylor
As our blog community reported first - As the race currently stands HE'S THE CASH KING OF KANSAS CITY POLITICS. That could change soon but for now his head start in fundraising lets us know that he's taking this election seriously and not just competing in a popularity contest.
Council Lady Jolie Justus
Her campaign kick-off was a FLOP. Most of what they talked about was our AWESOME TKC BLOG COMMUNITY and how we ruined their precious surprise.
Still . . . She's running out of the 4th and that's STILL where all the old school big money in Kansas City lives. Her campaign is also powered by the legal eagles of the local corporate law game who pushed Mayor Sly over the top when he was just a 2nd tier local lawyer working out of a low-rent storefront.
Councilman Jermaine Reed
He needs a job. Badly. This faux mayoral run tactic is tried and true. If he plays his cards right he can leverage support from the 3rd District into a timely endorsement of the winner and then a plush political gig at nearly any big local company that's begging for tax breaks - Which is all of them. So much for higher education paving the way to a top paying job at an engineering firm . . . But I digress.
Phil Glynn
A signal to everybody that the KC Mayoral Race 2019 is AMATEUR HOUR!!! He's a part-time social justice warrior and full-time Native American Investment guru or some facsimile thereof - To be fair, his campaign gambit now opens the floodgates for potential candidates who will undoubtedly ruin the schemes of many ambitious politicos with a tidal wave of ridiculous chatter.
More interestingly . . . Not yet official but powered by local GOP anticipation . . .
MO State Senator Ryan Silvey
He's the great white hope of the Northland and Axiom Strategies - If he can be goaded into thinking beyond the dead end of Missouri Statewide politics . . . The worst RINO in Missouri could make Kansas City's mayoral contest more interesting.
And so . . . Given that every Kansas City election is decided long before a single ballot is cast . . .
We invite critical insight and analysis of every sort given that quite a few KCMO political experts are now pushing up daises and this new group of contenders is ready to slap fight for the amusement of a local electorate influenced by the aftermath of Prez Trump blowing up American politics as usual.
Developing . . .
I'll bet a fiver on the clean cut Irish white boy!
ReplyDeletePregame can be fun.
DeleteWe haven't yet begun to see all of the candidate come out of the woodwork. I'm guessing we could get as many as 20 by the time it's all said and done.
Just ask Cerner, Polsinelli along with Burns & McDonnell. They already know the new mayor and have struck the appropriate deals.
DeleteWhat are their view on spam?
ReplyDelete^^^ SPAM!
DeleteHow do they feel about the legalization of marijuana?
ReplyDeleteVERY HIGH!
With the exception of Mr. Silvey, the rest are jokes. Jolie Justice has a snowball's chance in hell. If Silvey takes an early poll lead and the news is honest about it, it was depress the black vote and he's in like flint.
ReplyDeleteThat hand is a folder. I want to draw five more cards this five are all losers.
ReplyDeleteWell wait a minute...that white ass kissin, grifter, buck dancin' minstrel might just be the perfect replacement for the white guilt, PC, hommisexuals, tax the people to death and give Negros a license to kill each other culture of big Slie and Freedom's city of paradise at the Kaw and Missouri river confluence.
ReplyDeleteToo bad we won't see Nutter pick another one of his famous Nutter's _iggers to run again.
Lol only reason we are staying in KCMO at this point is for the constant comedy entertainment value this political scene provides.
ReplyDeleteBig Five Charlatan wrap up pool.
ReplyDeleteGiven the way Silvey is still campaigning for Burns and Mac, it's pretty obvious he is trying to show some return on investment.
ReplyDeleteSilvey is a no good Rino. Wagner will be out next mayor.
ReplyDeleteI like Phil Glynn. Maybe not for mayor, but really cool that he's running. I want to hear what issues he brings to the forefront. You also forgot Donald Carter, the ex-KCPD who raised $ to send the Go Chicken Go employee to college. He's still running, right??

ReplyDeleteWhat are their views on domestic human cannibalism?
What is the position of any of these candidates on unsolicited bulk email?
ReplyDeleteJolie eats a lot of pussy
ReplyDeleteLooks like we have another of those "Well, if we really HAVE to have a Mayor..." elections, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteglynn and reed look more like senior management.
ReplyDeletepart of sly's success is that he at least looked right in tne role.
Ha ha ha! Mayor Bullhorn looked especially Mayoral doing silly dances and jumping into bushes.
Delete9:37 - thank you for keeping the tradition alive!
ReplyDeleteMost of what they talked about was our AWESOME TKC BLOG COMMUNITY
ReplyDeleteIf mocking you and making fun of what a simpleton you are is what you call "what they talked about," yeah, that's what we talked about.
What's the matter dude? Had to delete that comment because you can't deal with the truth?
How is the coffee at City Hall, slave?
DeleteIt's totally free, Tony. Totally free.
DeleteAnd once again the 86% of the metro population that DOESN'T live in KCMO congratulates themselves on their choice of neighborhood location in choosing one of the other 114 municipalities around.
ReplyDeleteAnd there's always the state line!
It's always more fun to watch a carnival from a distance.
Ryan Silvey would be who I would like to lead Kansas city though I would think it would be beneath his job he has now.
ReplyDeleteMaybe his women wants him closer to home.
Elect my husband Mayor because I need another no-work-high-pay job (which I will never show up to) like Mike Sanders gave me at the County.
ReplyDeleteSexually close friend of Caitlynn Jenner asks,
ReplyDeleteCan any of these candidates cram their political bullshit so far up the voters asses to make KC a great place again?
Just ask'n
I must say Jolie has the largest stock of political bullshit and she knows about cramin ass.
ReplyDeleteAh, full disclosure, she is ramming about 2 trillion tons of raw bullshit up the voters ass on this phenomenally fucked up one terminal boondoggle. Sad truth is the people kinda like her bullshit up they asses as you will see when they pass phantom abysmally vague airport plan that will cost three times the amount they are saying now.
Oh yeah, it gets worse then she will be strutting and the people will make this bullshit artist Mayor. You heard it here. Glad I could be the one to give you straight talk.
Is that high flier, porch riding candidate the one that likes to show his snake ? Perfect candidate for Killa City.
ReplyDeleteAren't there any Muslims available to run for mayor. We might as well get it over with.
ReplyDeleteRyan Silvey is a smart, great guy who is like able to people across the political spectrum, He would represent KC well. I honestly could see his KC like ability translating into scoring some big new companies and headquarters for KC.
ReplyDeleteHe would be an awesome mayor.
Thanks Ryan
DeleteTaylor Taylor Taylor South Kansas City Boom Boom!
ReplyDeleteIf Silvey gets in the race Wagner has no chance of winning the Northland vote.
ReplyDeleteThe Usual Suspects
