Kansas Supreme Court Says School Funding Falls Short On Equity, Adequacy
The Kansas Supreme Court on Monday struck down the state's aid to schools as unconstitutionally low - and unfair to poor school districts in particular. In June, Kansas lawmakers passed a new school finance formula that included an infusion of nearly $300 million by 2019.
