KANSAS CITY PUBLIC DEFENDER PROTEST!!!

Quick look at the local legal class complaining about working conditions and echoing a crisis throughout Missouri. Here's a transcription of their talking points:

Kansas City's Public Defenders Stage Courtroom Protest Over Caseloads

Lawyers with the Public Defender's Kansas City office showed up en masse at a court hearing Thursday to express their unhappiness over being appointed to take on new cases while laboring under crushing caseloads. Twenty-five of the office's 35 lawyers filled up four benches in the courtroom of Jackson County Circuit Judge Patrick W.

I’d be pissed too if I had to defend black people who are guilty! Lol!

Going up against Jean Petersucker Baker and her weak dick probation giving staff. Yeah that's real hard work.

The nerve; Asking lawyers to work!

Not too sympathetic given the quality of work they produce. Most of them just phone in their defense anyway. I hope I never have to depend on a public defender. It's a rubber-stamp defense.

This doesn't seem like that many defenders for as many people need them.

Why should I have to pay to defend bums?

I work like a dog and never qualified for Obamacare subsidies...but that is not keeping the insurance companies and doctors taking every dime I have, with the aid of LAWYERS.

And then some stupid criminal...and they are stupid...can't afford a decent lawyer and wants a free one?

FUCK. THEM.

Disagree with the above. We need to increase the number of public defenders and we also need to pay them better.

Ironic that they are whining about not having the time to serve their current clients, yet they have the time for damn near their entire staff to sit on their asses and do nothing but stage this "protest" that will gain them absolutely nothing.

I get pissed off over my caseload every time I get a ticket in the speed trap of the plains.
