Today let's start the morning with a Smörgåsbord of saucy opinions and juicy information that represents a greater collection of perspectives than any other local news outlet is willing to publish. Natch.
To wit and because this blog almost never makes any endorsements but instead serves as the most gully alternative info resource KCMO has ever witnessed . . .
CHECK TOP RANKING ELECTION OPINION TO INFORM THE 12% OF REGISTERED KANSAS CITY WHO WILL BOTHER TO GO VOTE TODAY!!!
First and foremost and given that Missouri voters must show ID this time around . . .
Our pal Tracy offers a delightfully nihilistic take on today's vote from the comfort of JoCo. . .
Similarly . . .
Toy Train enthusiast David Johnson claims part of this vote is unconstitutional . . .
Meanwhile . . .
Dead-Tree Media pretends that it's still the 90s and published a ballot . . .
Now, here's the vote according to tax fighters . . .
Citizens For Responsible Government Ballot Recommendations
CFRG is advocating a position on two of the three ballot questions on the August 8th ballot next Tuesday . . .
VOTE YES ON QUESTION #1 - Streetcar System Extension – Elections Required
Question #1 is extremely important to the future of our city. KCMO VOTERS have told the City EIGHT times in EIGHT different elections that we do not want a streetcar, yet the city and its streetcar advocates continue to push gerrymandered voting districts with mail in ballots in order to get the streetcar line extended. Millions of dollars have been diverted from the KCATA’s bus lines to
finance the streetcar. Buses actually serve the poor. Streetcars serve very few people yet they cost far more than busses. This is our opportunity to get an ordinance passed that states the streetcar cannot be expanded without a CITY WIDE VOTE! That is the way it should be.
When the streetcar was built downtown, the city moved water, sewer, gas and electric lines from under the tracks. The entire city population was made to pay the increased water, sewer, gas and electric bills for the work done to bury the streetcar lines. If the whole City has to pay, the whole City should vote.
VOTE NO ON QUESTION #2 - QUESTION NO. 2 Streetcar System Extension – Two Sales Taxes Increases
CFRG believes the good folks in Kansas City are already taxed enough. Adding an additional regressive sales tax onto groceries, medications and other necessities to finance an outmoded, slow, cumbersome mode of transportation that only services the privileged few is a very bad idea.
In addition, CFRG believes the language in Question #2 is very ambiguous and will end up giving the City a blank check to use these funds for almost anything they want (bridges, infrastructure, etc.), not necessarily the rail system as planned. This money could be used to expand the existing streetcar program! Read the language! It’s poorly written and too ambiguous.
QUESTION NO. 3
Question #3 is a question on the minimum wage and while the CFRG partners believe people are entitled to a fair, living wage, we do not have a consensus on this issue as presented. Many believe the State of Missouri controls the minimum wage, not the City and if the State law is wrong, it should be changed. We cannot make a recommendation at this time…
If you would like to view the entire ballot, click on the link or visit the KCEB.org website for complete details. Please get out and VOTE!

You decide . . .
I'm voting for Clay.
ReplyDeleteHe is Kansas City's Trump!
Tracy needs to finish his sex change operation and get rid of that ugly ass red wig and the freakishly weird glasses. Don't be afraid to go all the way!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen the largest city in the metro is run by the likes of David Johnson and Clay Chastain, the 85%+ of metro residents who DON'T live in KCMO once again pat themselves on the backs for making a very good choice when they decided to buy or rent.
ReplyDeleteAnd Sly and the gang, who are supposedly representing the public, get endlessly jerked around by one insider special interest group or another and blow hundreds of millions on toys, all the while ignoring the actual needs of residents and businesses in their town.
It would actually be fun to watch if it weren't so predictable and sad.
ReplyDeleteThese kids can't even get a hamburger order right they don't need $15 an hour, but go ahead and vote for it because it will never go anywhere.
It's not just mayor bullhorn who is the problem in K.C. it's the dumb liberals with their little sly signs and go bond signs in their front yards who keep voting for him and now K.C. is so bad no decent person wants to run.
Liberals don't forget to praise your water bill when it comes, sly told you your taxes would not go up, but you failed to realize he did not tell you your water bill would not go up. STUPID SUCKERS
Living wage for bloggers
ReplyDeleteLMAO
$15 an hour could equal $30,000 a year....
ReplyDeleteDemocracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what to have for dinner. But when all the sheep move out of KC what will the wolves eat?

ReplyDeleteWith the rocket's red glare
There's a nip in the air!!!

ReplyDeleteTony please get a new photo of Tracy. Geeze!
ReplyDelete^^^ Shut up Tracy. Stay in Kansas.
ReplyDeletePrediction:
ReplyDelete1 will lose
2 will win.
3 will win.
KC is screwed beyond all belief and we keep cutting our own throats.
Tracy Thomas needs to shut up.
ReplyDelete9:34--- you're right Tony does need a new picture of Tracy so his readers can see just how sexy, beautiful and mysterious she is.
ReplyDeleteHere's a better picture of Tracy.
ReplyDelete7:14 No kidding. It's the voting block that is the problem in K.C. They are just too damn stupid.
ReplyDeleteI would say that voting NO on everything is a no brainer, but it is the NO brainers that will pass the shit. As always the Peckerwoods will sit at home and watch TV on how the vote went without their vote.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who is happy with the current minimum wage should be required to live on it.
ReplyDelete11:55^ Most of us made minimum wage back in the day then got mad and got educated or got a skill then brought down the big bucks only to government tax it away.
ReplyDelete^^^^Tuition was a lot cheaper back in the day... .
ReplyDeleteTracy is so beautiful and sexy
ReplyDelete1:27 - tuition is more expensive because anyone with a pulse can get a full student loan, usually in an unmarketable skill.
ReplyDelete1:27, I ate a lot of mac n cheese along with nasty pot pies and cheap nasty bologna when I was in school back then so piss off loser. I paid for my education with hard work and so can you pussy.
ReplyDeleteYou all are bunch of losers. Each one of you tries to see if they can out-stupid the other. Guess what? You do!
ReplyDelete"I ate a lot of mac n cheese along with nasty pot pies and cheap nasty bologna when I was in school back then so piss off loser. I paid for my education with hard work and so can you pussy."
ReplyDeleteActually, so did I, but tuition was $12 an hour back then. College is a lot more expensive now. I don't know where you went to school, but evidently your school didn't have basic English classes--at least not when it comes to using commas.
2:07: How much did you pay for tuition at Trump University?
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeletemin wage an illegal Democrat greedy union slob scam
2:36 - what's your degree in? What job are you working at now?
ReplyDelete$21.16 an hour would be fair:
ReplyDeletehttp://inequality.org/research/minimum-wage/
^ then $50 an hour would be more fair. ^
ReplyDelete4:48 that's just a bunch of progressive bullshit, go back to yo mommas basement and play some more video games that you got for Christmas
ReplyDeleteI don't get the big deal about showing a photo ID in order to vote. I've been doing that since the 1960s. You show your drivers license and they compare that information to the info they have on record for you. Done - you vote and that's the end.
ReplyDelete3:49: Happily retired. Thanks for your interest.
ReplyDelete^ come on smart guy, enlighten the lowly rabble with your secrets to success.
ReplyDelete7:42 the only secret is hard work and learning to do with out a few things to get ahead.
ReplyDeleteI wish just one of these morons could make a burger, taco or an accurate drive through order like they are making $15.00 per hour doing it.
ReplyDelete7:42: Get a good job, live below your means, and grow old.
ReplyDeleteHello everyone, I am Augustine Stones from USA. I am here to share this good news to only those who will seize this opportunity.I read a post about an ATM hacker and I contacted him via the email address that was attached in the post. I paid the required sum of money for the blank card I wanted and he sent the card through UPS Express Delivery Shipment, and I got it in 2days. I got it from him last week and now I have withdrew $50,000 USD. The blank ATM card is programmed in a way that it withdraws money from any ATM machine and there is no name on it. It is not traceable when you make withdrawals with it. Now I have enough money which I have used to expand my business, and I have saved some money for my family with the help of the card. I am really happy I met Mr.Esa Perez who helped me with this card because I've heard about this card long ago but I had no means of getting it until I came across Mr. Esa Perez. Here is his contact email if you want to reach him.
