TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY 18TH & VINE REDEVELOPMENT DEMANDS $20-MILLION MORE WORTH OF INVESTMENT!!!

Today's Kansas City jazz celebration of more money thrown down the toilet excluded an important fact . . .

ADVOCATES FOR 18TH & VINE NEED $20-MILLION MORE TO FINISH THEIR REDEVELOPMENT PLANS!!!

As usual, media mostly reported hype and a rigged progress report that FAILED to offer much information . . .

But dive just a bit deeper and take a look at their financial projections . . .

Where is this cash going to come from??? Supporters of the project claim that "private investment" will support their goals. But so far, a great many restaurant owners and small biz have run screaming from this district, the jazz fest is still bouncing checks and guests without political connections don't always feel welcomed at the Blue Room.

So, it's EXTREMELY likely that they're coming back to taxpayers on this one and lame duck politicos will offer us City Hall cash without a public vote.

Developing . . .

The drawing is creepy. Are those white things the ghosts of all the people who died there?

No more taxpayer money for this black hole. You would be spending the money more wisely by giving it to some kids for their lemonade stand. White people don't want to go there and that's who pays the bills.

Funny that Byron shows up when the Free Bird flies. He has zero shame, Man up Byron , share your address. P.S. Byron we are watching.

It's a money pit. It will never be anything other than a drain on city tax dollars. Shut it down, and get over it!

Absolutely NOT!

What have the done?

They have shown how they have spent taxpayer money. Have they raised any capital or revenue independently? THAT should be the real question before they get another dime from City Hall.

We need a out of town auditing firm to look at this mess. Cant trust any local ones due to political pressure. Not a penny more until a full audit and jail time for the people who have ripped the taxpayers off in this mess. Sicking example of KC today.

I may agree that a lot of this money is going to waste, but look at the P&L District, Westport and the Plaza for the same kind of waste. If you tell me that KC is going to tighten the purse strings in a comprehensive fashion then I'm all for it. Until then, it seems like ALL of the entertainment districts have their hands out.

Next Up,,,,,
Audit shows Millions of TAX Dollars un accounted and re'allocated for various venues into certain peoples financial coffers without any receipts or accountability !!

Meanwhile, the City of KCMO is deciding to RAISE TAXES to Fund projects that have been neglected for Decades.

Wheres that Money going to come from,,,, YOU the Tax Payers , some of which were advocating for a higher wage !!!

Guess what ,,,, your right back where you started from, because of KCMO Mayor Sly James and some members of KCMO City Council.

Believe its time to force a RECALL of KCMO Mayor SLY JAMES ASAP , get it started before the entire city ends up in Deep Despair , with NO turning back !!!

Sometimes you just have to cut your losses and move on. Move the Negro Leagues museum to Union Station and make it a permanent exhibit. People are much more likely to come to that location. Scrap the rest of that area, it is past any point of return. Please do not throw any more money at this; whoever is responsible for the management and PR of the district is doing a horrible job. Here's hoping we are not going to be bullied or tricked into supporting this lost cause any longer by a high-ranking city "leader" who has led us...well, nowhere. Watch out for that airport debacle coming soon. He tried to slip that past us, too and got caught. His track record for getting his way and duping the public has been on a definite losing track.

No end to boons wanting handouts. Shut this clusterfuck down and let it fade into the past where it belongs.

If Missouri gives HOLLYWOOD TAX BREAKS THEY CAN MAKE MOVIES IN THE 18 AND VINE AND THE CROSSROADS AND DOWN TOWN THAT WILL INCREASE THE TAX REVENUE

After MILLIONS AND MILLIONS just handed to grifters, thieves, losers, slackers and crooks there is still nothing given back to the KC taxpayers that footed the bill for this 30 year joke.

No white businesses there.
Not safe for the very people that have funded this.
Musicians hate working here. Afraid for their lives and the pay is lousy.

Any un-armed white person in the so called 'jazz district' is an easy victim.

Hell's yeah, Rocker, and Killa City's got great realistic backdrops. There's recordings of gunfire galore, sirens screaming, day and night crime scenes aplenty--all taped off and chalked out. That oughta cut some costs and time off of production.
