TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! NEW KANSAS CITY AIRPORT TEASE!!! LABOR DUDES DANGLE MAYORAL PIPE DREAMS IN FACE OF COUNCILMAN JERMAINE REED!!!
The fate of the largest municipal public works project in modern Kansas City history rests on the shoulders of a 3rd District dude who hopes to be Mayor.
To be fair, Councilman Jermaine Reed has been back and forth on the airport issue and sided with both opponents on the Council and Mayor Sly in support. He is sandwiched in betwixt factions in an uncomfortable position but has always managed to pull out unscathed.
And now . . .
KANSAS CITY UNION DUDES RECOGNIZE THAT COUNCILMAN JERMAINE REED IS THE KEY TO NEW SINGLE-TERMINAL AIRPORT VICTORY AND PLAN TO ENTICE HIM WITH MAYORAL BACKING!!! EWW!!!
Here's the word . . .
Kansas City Union Dudes: "Reed pulls off the 13-0 vote on the KCI ballot language by outmaneuvering Council member Katheryn Shields. His next big mayoral challenge will be getting a new KCI to pass in November. How does he do that? By getting the vote to pass."
Interestingly, union dudes sent us a dossier of lawsuits against AECOM to try and offset the damage of the Burns & Mac Airport legal dispute in Branson that has decimated their single-terminal champion Council Lady Jolie Justus.
But here's the kicker line . . .
KC Union Dudes: "It's well known the AECOM team isn't a union friendly team so Reed has a big challenge. If he can pull off another unity vote and keep the bent AECOM team out of town, he wins support from labor and the business community and can start measuring for new drapes in the mayor's office. If Shields wins, the airport fails, Reed is done, and it's a whole new mayor's race."
Now, to really understand this newsy spin sent our way . . . Readers must come to the tragic conclusion that the entire new airport debacle has devolved into a sordid series of court intrigue preying upon the confidence of elected officials.
Corporate dweebs and union henchman are promising the world to anybody who helps them win this BILLION DOLLAR KANSAS CITY DEAL. They will give Mayor Sly a legacy, Councilman Jermaine a future, Council Lady Jolie Justus a heart and Council Dude McManus a brain . . .
In the end, the proposal for a new airport is very much like a promise from The Wizard of Oz . . . And behind the curtain elite corporate dudes are pulling all the levers of a machine fueled by taxpayers and travelers.
You decide . . .
Hillary Clinton/ Jermaie Reed 2020
ReplyDeleteAll of this is a great reason to vote NO in NO-vember.
DeleteJermaine couldn't possibly expect to be mayor with any bit of a realistic hope. But does seem smart enough to know how to get leverage and a good job out of all this. If he wants to stay in KC. then his bread will be buttered by Burns and McDonnell but maybe he is more ambitious than just the flunkie reporters from the Star. A good showing ahead of Wagner and Taylor could land him in D.C. with a bigger salary than any of his rivals. From there, he's looking at millions. Selling out for people in Kc is always the short money. For the sake of our airport and KC's future, I hope he knows that.
DeleteNO ONE WANTS TO GO TO KILLA SHITY PERIOD. WHY DO YOU LOW LIFES NEED A NEW AIRPORT YOU CANT EVEN AFFORD THE SHIT YOU HAVE.
ReplyDeleteReed would be the worst Mayor of all options. No credibility. Maybe he could rebuild the 3rd District again. Dear City Council: If you build a Grocery Store and give it to an operator for $1.00 a month for 20 years, you put the existing grocery stores in the area at a distinct disadvantage, leading to their closures.
ReplyDeleteWeen you put more $ in your district on bogus programs, you ignore other parts of the City and upset the population of those areas.
Shields is a very good option with smart people behind her.
Look at the blight district no one goes there cause of the crime. oh ya black people go there but they don't fuckin matter
ReplyDeleteI CAN SEE KILLA CITY GOIN BANKRUPT IN 5 YEARS.
ReplyDeleteShields wrote a piece which was published by the Star a few weeks ago. Smart piece with questions that remain unanswered.
ReplyDelete1. Why is the 3rd terminal closed?
2. Why is the City not maintained the existing airport?
3. Why is there little transparency in the Airport process?
The best thing for the City is for the City to hold off on the Airport and Street Car expansion until she becomes the next mayor.
About 1/3 of KC voters automatically vote yes for any tax or any bond proposal put forth regardless of how bad it might be. A couple of million in campaign contributions usually convinces another 1/6 to vote yes. Any opposition will be met with total scorn by the media, dirty tricks by campaign consultants and harassment by the legal profession.
ReplyDeleteLook at Detroit and you will see Kansas City. Both are fucked up for the same reason. You guess what that is...
ReplyDeleteI live in the expanded part of the 3rd district in the forgotten part on the Far East side of town and he's done nothing for us out here, we tried talking to him about streets and flooding and crime and he ignored us. His people from the central core get whatever they want. This redistricting gave him more money to spend in the central core and the rest of us got screwed. Has anyone noticed that it's mainly the blacks running this airport scam?
ReplyDeleteReed's history of bad investments with City funds his own district implicates his credibility. I would never trust him as Mayor or for any political position.
ReplyDeleteSly James will not stay in public office because Clever is not going anywhere due to the fact that he can't retire. Look for Sly to get a JOB WITH BURNS SNF MAC.
"HIs campaign promise-I will get funds to the 3rd district to rebuild it and make up for past."
Bottom line- REED will work for 40 years at jobs which produce a good salary, and when he retires will be broke.
He'll go for the free stuff, blacks always do! All about the gibsmes! GIBSMEDAT FREE STUFF!!!
ReplyDeleteReed: You have got to be kidding. I was a life long Democrat until I moved to KCMO 7 years ago. After watching the City screwing its population time and time again on Taxes and services, I not have become an Independent who says-I will have no choice to vote against the Democrats even thought I hate the republican option.
ReplyDeleteMark Alford made reed look like a dumbass on the news this morning, busted him on more than a few things. Reed is dismissing all polls comparing them to dog catchers??? Said they've been working on this since 2014 and no tax payer money has been spent, sure they haven't. Who paid for all the studies and such then??? Alford then asked him if burned and mcdouche paid for all the commercials and stuff and he said the proposals are responsible for the commercials...... wtf does that even mean??? He obviously isn't very smart, just like the rest of the crooked bastards at city hall
ReplyDelete$$$$
ReplyDeleteWhy support a leadership that is letting KCI go to seed just to make it look old on purpose?
ReplyDeleteVote no on the crony proposal.
Remodeling is what's obviously needed. People know that.
Is Shields turning out to be the hero here?
ReplyDeleteShe seems to be acting in good faith, even if one disagrees with some of her positions.
8:16, Just go to the other side of the state line and just see how 'bad' the republican option is. If you think that new businesses buildings going up almost weekly, a strong education system, and just general prosperous and safe neighborhoods are bad, then by all means go with the democrat option.
ReplyDeleteAnd the 84% of the metro residents who DON'T live in KCMO watch with humor and disbelief as the amateur clowns "representing" the largest municipality in the area get jerked around, taken advantage of, made fools of over and over again, and sell out the very taxpayers who voted for them in exchange for their own personal advantages.
ReplyDeleteEver wonder why there isn't any bi-state multi-jurisdictional cooperation on serious issues like storm water management or transportation?
Look no further than the clown show at 12th and Oak, the airport terminal fiasco being the most unbelievable and latest example.
Which shell is the pea under today?
Shake our hands, but be sure to count your fingers afterward.
Is there any private company anywhere who would hire Reed to honcho a $1.2 billion project?
How about a one-car garage?
What a sad joke this little cow town is!
If you have ever had an unscripted conversation with this moron, the whole idea of him being the next mayor is simply terrifying. I promise you, this man is a moron short of being a functioning retard
ReplyDeleteReed is being offered the chance to be a sell-out like James.
ReplyDeleteThis will be a test of his character.
What character? He has sold out long before now. Two words: East Patrol
DeleteReed is a royal fuck up. He will never, ever, ever, ever get my vote. Not never.
A city councilperson with character would be a first for Kansas City.
ReplyDeleteWhat in the hell does Byron know about character?
ReplyDeletethe public doesn't like all the skullduggery and is all the more likely to vote no.
ReplyDeleteKaine 2020!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteDemocrat greedy union slobs looking to scam the taxpayers
The airport wants to put a shopping mall at MCI. Spread things out so it doesn't feel like a buss station. The only way to sell more condos is to have an airport that feels like your in a coastal city.
ReplyDeleteI thought Reed was today's homicide victim. Too bad.
ReplyDelete^^^ beware of those black helicopters dude. It's risky to threaten a public official. You cray.
