Mayor Sly's Rock The Block Bust

A Kansas City tradition enjoyed meager turnout compared to years past along with a horrible time after being booted out of the park.

Safety concerns lead to changes for Rock the Block

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - It's the sixth year for "Sly's Rock the Block," an event organized by Mayor James to mark the end of summer-long programming designed to curb violence and keep kids safe. For the first time, the event was held from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. instead of starting in the evening.

Why is it only one group of people has to have things changed for them because they can't behave civilly? At least there shouldn't be a fight or shooting at Union Station tonight.

^^^ KCMO. Without question.

They can't arrest anymore teens then they have in the past six years. The public is tired of Sly James and his bosses.

The blacks ruin everything and to make matters worse us taxpayers paid for it so sLIE and his gang can get their votes come next election. Amazing what cheap ass pizza can get get you.

That's the annoying part; if this is such a personal goal of Slyme's, why not let him pay for it out of pocket, or get local businesses to donate goods and services. This is NOT something that should be funded by tax dollars.

SLIE is an idiot. As much as I hated funkytown it's clear now that he was a far superior mayor than the bullhorn will ever be.

7:24 It was the tax payers who paid for it and it is only black people no whites!

I drove by it yesterday afternoon. There was a notable lack of people in attendance. Of course, this morning's Star story on the event trips all over itself trying to conceal that fact. I'm not sure which is more dishonest, the Mayor or the Star. Possibly a dead heat.

Only way to hold a peaceful gathering of blacks is to it during day light. Most are not mature enough to be trusted to behave after dark. Send back to their mother land.
