Here's a tiny bit of what's screwed up about the NO-BID deal underway . . . Call it "news" for those of us who didn't already talk this subject in the comments a few days ago. Checkit:
Burns & McDonnell irks KCI competitors with exclusive contractor deals
Burns & McDonnell is playing strongly off its hometown credentials and is using a shrewd tactic in its campaign to win a $1 billion contract for a new Kansas City International Airport terminal. The Kansas City engineering company confirmed that it has signed minority- and women-owned contractors to exclusive arrangements that keep those companies from working with other teams that may put forth a proposal.
I own a WBE company that provides a product they will need when building the airport. None of the 3 major bidders has contacted me. I am listed in the city's directory of WBE/MBE firms and I am the only qualifying firm that provides this specific product. I am about to get screwed over. I also live in KCMO and I will be voting no on any airport proposals for this reason.
ReplyDeleteGet lost whore, the men are doing business here.
DeleteYou sell air filters. While a credible endeavor I don't think lining up an air filter company this far in advance really sways the project to any team.

ReplyDeleteBurns and Mac should be disqualified, same Rockhurst mafia, Mayor, Reardon, Mark One. When will Kansas weigh in on obviously manipulated bs process
ReplyDeleteWho is guarding the integrity of process, the Star, the Mayor, the Chamber? Hell no the have been in on the fix
ReplyDeleteThen these same bs artists pontificate that we need to work regionally, which is code for expand the powers of the bs artists over jurisdictions that are already much better run
ReplyDeleteNot soliciting options for upgrading airport is wrong, as is rigging no participation votes. Throw the arrogant bs artists out and see who the money behind the curtains comes from
ReplyDeleteThat preposterous add shows the amazing lack of judgement. Burns is worried now that the best fix their money can buy is found out.
ReplyDeleteTheStar calls them shrewd, we say the process has been corrupt and disgenuine
ReplyDeleteHow does the star confuse shrewd with disgustingly wrong minded and corrupt
ReplyDeleteThe public is about to call bs on the bs artists
ReplyDeleteSomeone should make a video montage of the greatest hits from this cluster, with Sly reaching and saying every bs thing he can think of, which made him look like an scam artist contriving to get the fix through
ReplyDeleteMaybe that bs works in the ambulance chasing world Sly but not in integrity governance while you are trying to make a power grab over areas that are simply less corrupt and are well managed
ReplyDeletePeople need to quit equating kc prospering with Burn em Mac corrupting government
ReplyDelete9:54, the Star got tax deferral payola to cheerlead for the city, which it now does enthusiastically. As was once said of politicians, a good newspaper is one that when bought, stays bought.
ReplyDeleteThe Mark One comments were laughably arrogant, that they are loaded, loaded with entitled, rigged monopoly arrogance but the world works to forever right a wrong. Sly and Gloria and the rigged fix seem to be meeting a public that them preposterously obvious and worthy of pure disdain
ReplyDeleteB&M knows they're not the most qualified and are far from the best company on the list. So they have to resort to gimmicks, politics and back room dealing to get this deal.
ReplyDeleteMark One is the poster child for why many WBE companies are BS. Thanks Daddy.
ReplyDeleteA tapeworm living off it's host has home town credentials too.
ReplyDelete"those of us who didn't already talk this subject in the comments a few days ago"
ReplyDeleteOddly I found no trace of any such duscussion.
Lyimg again.
