Local biz news has reported on this bid but now the effort looks like it's getting serious.
Here's the word from KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS and a realization that Fox News is only the start of the local crackdown . . .
Last night, or rather around 4:45 this morning, the WDAF channels ran the FCC-required announcements that SINCLAIR is trying to buy WDAF-TV.
Sinclair is known for building its own right-wingnut network of local stations, requiring its stations to include Sinclair-produced propaganda pieces in their newscast, and god knows what all.

To stop the fleecing of the taxpayers by greedy corporations and the politicians they have bought to finance development and privately financed projects.
I will say this: I work for free to stop these projects. And together with watchdog Phillip Klein, we have actually stopped two projects worth $2.4 billion. Unlike CFRG and Dan Coffey, I have actually SUCCEEDED in stopping some projects: BiStateII and Big Soccer.
Whereas CFRG has appeared to have fleeced Phillip Klein out of $26,000 to finance some of your failed efforts--and refuse to answer questions or even tell him WHAT you spent the money on. That's creepy and suspect to me. Can't seem to find your reporting on Missouri Ethics Commission reports. You have tilted at windmills but not gotten much done. For example, you supported/financed billboards that were unreadable, posted in crappy locations on the wrong side of the street.

I have not watched local news in many years and have not missed it. Transitioning one TV news channel to a reality based format will not reverse that.

I don't see anyone dying over that. Perhaps WDAF will finally get an infusion and scrape up the cash to build a real news set, hire some talent and drag their kiddie clown show asses into the new millennium. Would be wonderful to see a broadcast station that didn't operate like a wannabe public tv station.
