I loved KCFringe festival this year--went to 10 so far, and this is the final day, Best Of the Fringe, going to 2 more. Cody Clark, the magician who has autism. 2pm at Outburst Studio.

And the remarkable Jamie Campbell's true story, "Devil on the Wall, or That Time I Got Kidnapped." 4pm, Buffalo Room in the back of the Westport Flea Market. (great burgers/Mcgonigle's beef, just sayin...).

This show is so good I'm seeing it twice. And I never do that. Best performance I've seen at Fringe in six years. Standing ovations at each of his events. You'll see. The ticket is just $10--and I promise--you'll never forget it and just wish it was on video so you could watch it in the dark with someone you love.

Jamie Campbell is Chicago's best stand-up comedian, also starring in a web TV sitcom similar to Office called 'Lunch and Learn'. Hilarious booming voice with a take on life in America that grabs your heart and slingshots your memories around the room--the pain of childhood, poverty, being forced to make a life decision between two people you love, things you thought you'd forgotten.

I'd like to follow this guy around a Walmart and just listen to him riff on what has happened in America. He shook up my Johnson county suburban lifestyle reminding me of what it was like when I was poor and got my only good pair of shoes.

If you have read Jeannette Walls' The Glass Castle, (movie out at Glenwood Arts in August), you don't want to miss Jamie Campbell.

And if you've been following how our own comedian David Naster is producing nationally celebrated shows about getting beyond pain, with his book series and cruise ship shows, "You Just Have to Laugh", well, there's a distinct possibility that Campbell and Naster are brothers from another mother.

I caught Jamie Campbell's story as well. Best $10 bucks spent all week. I laughed. I cried. I ate at the Flea. It's all good.

Did anyone else see Liminal? Those women wrapped themselves around benches like Tony's gals use stripper poles. Weird and wonderful.

My friends said Cody Clark is a great magician--who embraces and incorporates his autism into his life.

Earlier this week, when the power went out in the Crossroads, he relocated to a different venue that operated on just a generator--because "the show must go on"!

That's unstoppability and showmanship.

Not every show at kcfringe is a winner, but the ones today were--the biggest audiences of the past 10 days. So they've been vetted by others.

kcfringe.org
$10 tix or pay $1.50 service charge and buy in advance. Today's the last day.

Last night I met a gal who moved here from NYC. At their Fringe, the acts are full length, up to 2 hours, and they audition in advance with thousands of entries.

In KC, the acts are strictly 60 minutes in length. Which is about our attention span! Unless you're Sly James, in which case, it's two minutes per shiny object--then turn to whoever's lining his pocket eg Burns & Mac.

Jamie Campbell's riff on peeing at the Greyhound bus station--worth the entire $10 ticket price...

I'd love to hear Jamie Campbell riff on these Captcha authentification nightmares. When it says click on cars, does that mean mobile homes too? Is it cars plural? Or any vehicle? And does the pole of a street sign need to be checked as well as the actual sign?

Are people becomeing better drivers after jumping thru Tony's endless hoops to prove we are not god damn robots??

Has anyone been as pissed as me about how long it takes those volunteers to scan the Fringe tickets? Jesus, people--this isn't a Garth Brooks concert. The venue and name are on the ticket, we gotta pee, let us in the door.

I just wanna know what Tracy really looks like.
So I'll be at Jamie Campbell's show...at 4 at the Flea.

She's so Garbo.

Has Tony ever been to the Fringe? Just sayin...

I saw the Cat Meme-ologues at Fringe, this year--and wanted to strangle the cutesy performers. These shows are not all winners.

I shoulda read the comments on the website about the shows--before buying tix. But hey, live and learn. At least today, I know the acts are the best sellers...I'm too lazy so I'll go to one today.

At least these performers created something. Then put it on, even in an unairconditioned place like Holy Cow Market.

The unicorn seemed to really step up their game this year--a whole lotta new plays--
KC's a great theatre town.

A Tracy sighting, when it's not First Friday?? Is she allowed to leave Joco this often??

World Burleque Federation:Stripdown.
3pm, Just off Broadway Theatre (where the KC Park Dept. used to hide Santa)

Well I am sure all of the artists had a great time paying to perform. Way to go CK!!!

11:16, you are an uninformed troll.

I checked with Cheryl Kimmi, the founder and CEO--(I assume you meant her with your cryptic CK).
The presenters keep 60% of the gate.
The venue keeps 30% of the gate.
And KCFringe.org keeps 10% of the gate.

So, take it back, you goon! Don't make me come smack you with my fringed scarf!!!
