KCTV5: "While her family won't say who they are suing, dashcam video that shows a North Kansas City police officer stopping Anderson hours before her death may play a role in their case."
The mom has criticized police who pulled her over but didn't arrest her for having coke and other drugs in her system according to authorities . . .

ReplyDeleteI'm not a law expert, nor do I play one on TKC! Gut feeling guesswork sez Toni's family will have an attorney using the officer's own words to set the theme of the case. The leo directing her to pull into Quick Trip and take some time to collect herself strongly hints of some LIABILITY placed on PD. Her wrong way driving, long idling time at corner, and her incorrect signal before turning were noticed by leo and were dashcam captured per media reports. Added to that, her mannerisms and speech reportedly recorded at the traffic stop will be scrutinized bigly. Her seeming lucky break at that stop was anything but, for her, and the officer. The decision may be ruled that more than one mistake was made by more than one person.
ReplyDeleteToni Anderson's life was filled with a lot of what if's. Her mother, father, boyfriend and her friends in general played a huge role in those what if's. The strip club is as well a part of the what if's. The path she chose and life style she had was full of what if's. To make the what if of a police officer as the stance for one of the parents to sue seeking a "what if I can get a lot of money for this action" simply shows how people now days just can't accept responsibility for their actions.

ReplyDeleteFor me, this isn't about choosing sides, but more of a concern for what went wrong. A president, a pope, a parent, a police officer, and ANYONE can make a mistake. At least two persons made mistakes, and a court decision may assign fault and order some compensation.

I do know the KC government broom is fucking huge for all the shit that gets swept under the carpet. Yo are living in a city where police officers have assaulted their families, driven drunk and wrecked police vehicles, have assaulted other officers while drunk, have criminal records, have been allowed to drive intoxicated, have been involved in perpetrating domestc violence, have stolen money, have lied on the stand, have missappropriated evidence, have discharged firearms inappropriately and the list goes on. I don't hear anyone pissing and moaning about that shit and it goes on constantly with many of the offenders having their asses covered and still on the city payroll..

ReplyDeleteHe failed to protect other motorists from a potentially dangerous situation, Failed to serve the community in doing so. She was intoxicated, so yes his job was to protect and serve her also, by getting her off the road for the evening and citing her for putting others in danger on a cold and potentially icy, dangerous time.
As it has worked for others, this may well have been her "wake up call" to change her life. The potential for this was lost when he failed in his job. Shame shame. The city will be forced to settle this one. even their doctored version on video makes him look pretty complacent and lazy.
