Top ratings just a few years ago have QUICKLY AND CURIOUSLY CHANGED amid the big biz effort to build new . . . Nothing significant has changed with the airport and a new KCMO Corporate airport won't fix the long lines . . . However, this bad news could also justify renovation.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- As Kansas City officials continue to discuss the possibility of building a new airport, several national surveys are chiming in and their opinion of our airport is not good.
So when KCI ranked at the top, this survey was meaningless but when the results are what they want, then it's credible?

ReplyDeleteOK - I know for a FACT,,, that just a few years ago, there was a story on one of the local KC News stations where they took a camera and reporter and went around KC and asked it citizens how they felt about KCI Airport terminal and if it was good enough, and 99% of everybody agreed that it was one of the Best and easiest Airport terminals around the country to fly in/out of.
Now let me guess, that Video report has magically disappeared and can't be found anywhere ?????????

Here is the problem with this kind of survey: Food, beverage and shopping tend to be given equal weight with actual convenience. KCI is NOT a preferred dining and shopping venue -- and should not be judge by the same criteria as Zona Rosa.
ReplyDeleteIt is beloved because of its CONVENIENCE (in and out and fifty feet from door to parking lot). Want more restrooms post screening or larger waiting rooms? That can be tweaked.
Give the voters of KC an equally-convenient alternative and they will support it.
Sounds like they only interviewed Bronco's Fans.

ReplyDeleteThe survey proves the power of messaging. Hell, you tell someone that they hate their own mama for long enough, and they'll start believing it and tell you the same thing.
