KANSAS CITY STAR TAX BREAK DEAD-TREE NEWSPAPER ENDORSES CORPORATE NO-BID NEW SINGLE-TERMINAL AIRPORT!!!
In support of the City Hall politicos who grant them discounts on taxes and local corporate power players; the newspaper attempts to argue that one of the most convenient airports in the nation is not convenient. Worse still, they're touting their work for transparency in a process that has been exceptionally secretive and political . . . There's a bright side, the newspaper doesn't really move the dial for voters anymore and this temper tantrum editorial only resonates among the denizens of 12th & Oak. You decide . . .
Editorial: Kansas City should embrace a new airport terminal. Here's why.
For nearly two months, Kansas City has engaged in an intense discussion about the future of its airport. The debate began in May, when local engineering firm Burns & McDonnell went public with its own plan for a new terminal at Kansas City International Airport and when city leaders said they were targeting a November vote on the issue.
What a shock! The Star licking the nutsack of Sylvester and Buttfuck & McDouche. What a chickenshit birdcage liner of a newspaper.
ReplyDeleteGotta pay that lug to the machine.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is suppose to surprise who?
ReplyDeleteWho cares what the Star endorses? They are irrelevant.
ReplyDeleteThe STAR is bought and paid for by Burns &'Mac, and none of the Editorial Board lives in KCMO, or pays KCMO Water & Sewer bills that Burns & Mac rips us all off for!!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to BernieMac City.
ReplyDeleteCompare the mess at Denver with what happens aat KCI. Denver runs you through long lines and then leaves you to spend money in a MALL. That is what the money boys want here. It is about selling! Bars, restaurants and other businesses who will have a captive clientel for a half hour to an hour wait time. They know that boring sit and wait situations will translate into "SHOPPING" We are going to pay for another MALL.
ReplyDeleteLaughable when star says you must spend 500 million not 200 million to do upgrade, only if you stuff enough pork to pay off the usual suspects, by the way who designed the last fugly upgrade
ReplyDeleteWe don't want social engineering to shop more at the airport, how about a couple years off from the fix, then real innovators can work on better priorities and approaches, not contrived pork orgies they just gave emergency designation to
ReplyDeleteGet ready for scope creep from the machine, expect them to have more fake urgency related to expanding streetcar lines, more than you have heard so far
ReplyDeleteYou would think that 8"0 million would have them earnestly working on core essentials, the took about a week off then went right back to the hog trough
ReplyDelete9:54 YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD. AND DENVER AIRPORT IS A TOTAL MESS Go, to your favorite search engine and it will tell you the convenience of new airports,Its too make money off of over priced food drinks and retail, And the leases will be expensive for retailers and reasturants.
ReplyDeleteSave KCI!
ReplyDeleteAnd--build a new newspaper from the ground up!
WTF does Denver's terminal, which was built over 20 years ago, has 135 gates and serves as a hub for three airlines (United, Frontier, and Southwest) have to do with a new 35 gate terminal in Kansas City? Virtually nothing.
