At least 2 people injured in traffic accident that caused fire in Overland Park
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - At least one tractor-trailer and two cars were involved in an accident that caused a fire, according police. The crash happened at Interstate 435 eastbound of 69 Highway in Johnson County around 5 p.m. Overland Park police said at least one person was critically injured and another suffered minor injuries.
It's just great that all three network stations preempted national news coverage to provide us with pithy remarks about this wreck as if waiting 20 minutes would make a difference.
ReplyDeleteThe local affiliates' "area" is KC. For them, that takes priority over the national network; whether it's for local breaking news or weather coverage.
ReplyDeleteTo argue in your favor though - perhaps they could have simply ran a blurb across the bottom of the screen with the info, then waited until the top of the hour for full coverage.
These crashes are happening too often, folks. Please keep your eyes on the road when you drive.
