KANSAS CITY, Mo. - City officials say the infrastructure is continuing to fall apart underneath KCI airport. They say the water main break on the Fourth of July shows the need for something new. Around 6 p.m. Tuesday night a water main break forced Kansas City international airport to close down the bathrooms in Terminal B.

The city has been fiscally irresponsible and negligent in its responsibility to maintain the existing airport so that justifies handing then a ticket to waste and burn through more millions, maybe billions, building a new facility no one will maintain either??? ReplyDeleteThe rest of the city's sewer and water mains are failing, the city is under an EPA mandate (which they use the trolley relocation of service lines as a dodge)and this mayor and city council rival any Republican money-grabbing scheme.

To repost from below with a few additional comments. To quote some Winny the Poo: curiouser and curiouser. Does not BM have the city water department maintenance contract? How funny, a large main breaks and water is shut down. Yet, on a main that large, it would be looped. That is: if you have to shut off one end, it can be supplied from the other. Same concept with electric power. On quasi-critical infrastructure like an airport I find it inconceivable that the water system would somehow not be looped and able to provide continuous service during repair or maintenance operations let alone an emergency situation. Why looped? What if there had been a fire yesterday? Any on-board water in a pumper would be exhausted almost immediately, any sort of reservoir storage at the airport would be gone as well. This is 100% a false flag put forth by the powers that be who want their names on a shiny new toy. One of the news stations just a few days ago was reporting that at "peak" times, security lines can get over 1.5 hours long. I guarantee that has NEVER occurred, no chance. Up until a few years ago, I flew out of there 2 - 3 times a year, generally during peak seasons/times and never experience waits anything close to that. AND, WTF is up with we need a new airport so we can have USB chargers at every seat? GD, I'm not an electrician and I could go in there and lay that down with ease for pennies compared to a new airport.

@7:41, I can't quite get your comment. It has everything to do with Burns & Mac, but nothing to do with a new airport? Those two go hand-in-hand nowadays. There is no way to separate those two thoughts. It's also ironic that you mention toilets since that has been an ongoing scam to inconvenience people at the airport; shutting down stalls or entire restrooms for "maintenance". I swear I've never seen such fragile commercial toilets that last 10 - 15 years then all of a sudden quit working with the smallest of turds. I'd say something stinks in there for sure.
