TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY COUNTS 66 MURDERS AMID 40% HOMICIDE SPIKE 2017!!! ARE WE CONFRONTING ANOTHER COWTOWN SUMMER SEASON OF SLAUGHTER?!?!

Yesterday was the first official day of Summer.

Just a few fun facts to offer a perspective on real life in Kansas City proper as this town heats up.

- There have been 19 more murders this year over last.

- Kansas City ranks in a dangerous list of top 12 cities that qualified for additional help from Prez Trump's Department Of Justice given our crime epidemic.

- Last year, the KCMO homicide rate tracked seven times higher than New York City. This year, it is tracking TEN TIMES higher.

And all these stats lead up to this scary truism . . .

SUMMER STARTS THE MOST DEADLY TIME OF YEAR FOR KANSAS CITY WHEREIN HOMICIDE TRENDS SPIKE AND CONTINUE TO RISE UNTIL THE FIRST WINTER FREEZE!!!

And so . . .

The reality here is that over the past few years the weather has been far more effective at deterring, and possibly determining, crime than any other factor.

But I digress . . .

While local "journalists" opine about root causes and politically correct solutions. Our goal has always been to keep people safe by presenting the FACTS of this annual Kansas City slaughter and warning readers about the real world threat posed by increasingly deadly Kansas City violence.

  1. Actually closer to a 50% increase if you add in all of the homicides that didn't make the cut or are still under investigation. The one stat you are overlooking is that even more of these crimes are coming from north of the river. Kc's population changes aren't reducing crime, they're just spreading it around.

    1. I guess a new airport or a new hotel isn't going to solve this problem. Too bad, because that's the only thing that the council is working on this Summer.

    2. A dead pool is probably out of order but just do the math. If it keeps up at this pace or increases like it usually does, we're talking a record breaking year for homicides.

  3. And the latest offer of assistance from the feds isn't going to include any money.
They're just coming to KCMO to offer some leadership and management assistance.
They are likely to be shocked and dumbfounded by what they find.
If there's a report written after their involvement, it will certainly make for interesting reading.
And may well answer the question of how this carnage has been allowed to go on for years and gets worse and worse.
    Hope they name names.

  4. I always get a laugh when people go after Mean Jean for not putting more black criminals in jail.

She HAS to take a plea, the black jurors will never convict black criminals.

Hence , more murders in the city including whites.

We now have a black serial killer and I guarantee he will skate if they ever catch him.

  10. JUST THE FACTS MA'AM

KCMO is a Democratic Party controlled city.

Mayor James rants against the political opposition in the state and nation, while he's impotent to keep KC citizens safe.

The KCPD Chief resigned with a $500,000 check awaiting him, besides all the normal retirement perks. He was unable to address the surging homicide rate after attempting to subcontract out the work to groups like NOVA and technology like ShotSpotter.

KCMO now stands as the only city in the nation without local control over their police department.

While the Mayor has been chasing rainbows like the ToyTrain, single-terminal crony payback airport, neglecting basic infrastructure maintenance, taxpayer-subsidized luxury towers, Burke's hotel folly, etc., who now is riding to the rescue of KCMO residents plagued by violence? President Trump's Administration, led by Attorney General Sessions' Justice Department!

When the weak are incapable, the strong must step forth and shoulder the burden.

  15. For 50 years we have pretended that 2 parent families are not important. We subsidize single mothers with the tax code not to mention all the welfare. A single woman having a baby that they are totally unprepared for intellectually, emotionally and financially is celebrated. Just go to any Wal Mart and watch fat women yelling at their kids and you understand the crime problem.

  16. You avoid the FACT at every turn Tony, what the fuck are you talking about?

Here's the problem. I'll explain it clearly. It's the root cause of murder in KC:

Black people. Black people. Black people. Black people. Black people. Black people. Black people. Black people. Black people. Black people. Black people. Black people.

    GET IT YET?

  20. The Kansas City Police Department has struggled with dwindling budgets, fewer officers, high crime numbers, lack of local control and other political issues. On Sunday April 2nd, the KC Star suggested we need to hire an outside agency to help find a new Chief. This is premature, in our opinion. We suggest we need to do is use this opportunity to analyze the Police Department from top to bottom before we hire a new Chief. City Hall has spent over $12 Million dollars on airport consultants to tell them what they wanted to hear. Why not spend a little money and get some professional, outside experts in town to look at our police department?

Perhaps there is a local police officer capable of taking over the department but that might get us more of the same high crime problems? Why not get some fresh eyes on the situation and a different perspective? Two names come to mind, Ray Kelly and Bill Bratton both from New York. These guys were responsible for bringing the New York Police Department into the modern era. They supervised over 25,000 officers (Kansas City has less than 1,000) in one of the toughest cities in the country and were able to bring crime under control and keep it there. They have a world of knowledge and experience we just might be able to learn from. It certainly wouldn’t hurt to get a different perspective on our situation. Let’s use this opportunity to GET IT RIGHT!

Call and Email your Council Person, the Mayor and the City Manager. Hiring an agency to look for a new Chief is just putting a band aid on a serious wound. With that approach, we’ll get a talking head with a brilliant resume and end up with the same structure and problems. Let’s take this opportunity to get a real handle on how the department is staffed and structured plus what changes might be made to improve things. If asked perhaps one or both Kelly and Bratton would help with the recruitment process. Fresh eyes from the outside are never a bad thing. We don’t have anything to lose and possibly a lot to gain!.

If we are able to get a new plan for our Police Department, it might go a long way toward getting local control.”

  21. As long as leadership positions within the KCPD are nothing more than patronage appointments made to those who have repeated the right lines from City Hall, and as long as leadership of the department is based more upon "not rocking boat" than on real solutions, and as long as City Hall cares WAY more about the latest eco-devo development scheme than maintaining the city or keeping it's citizens safe, and as long as state control is required due to a complete lack of faith that City Hall won't raid every dollar the PD has in pension funds... NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE.

We'll end up with another chief that has pledged his allegiance to City Hall and not it's citizens, who will remain surrounded by a senior staff more concerned with maintaining the status quo and collecting an easy paycheck. Homicides this year will probably top 130, other violent crime will increase, and all that you will hear from those who should lean and govern is who great a new airport and downtown hotel will be.

  22. The last two comments are well-informed thoughtful recommendations and observations that any KCMO elected official with a whit of common sense and who actually cares about the levels of violence and homicides in the city, particularly the east side, would do well to enthusiastically embrace.
But I can't recall anyone in KCMO city government who campaigned and even tried to govern with the emphasis and focus on public safety.
Those excellent recommendations will sadly be ignored.
    And nothing will change.
Why anyone thinks that a city can make progress simply by building subsidized projects and acquiring toys like the streetcar while the level of murders continues at the rate one-third the number of homicides in New York City truly shows how out of touch and beholden to their financial backers the electeds in KCMO are.
