The Kansas City Chiefs reportedly are interested in interviewing ESPN analyst Louis Riddick for their vacant general manager opening. Riddick later tweeted Sunday that the Chiefs have not contacted him about the GM job, shooting down a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, who earlier wrote on Twitter: "The Chiefs have reached out to ESPN analyst Louis Riddick to set up an interview for next week for their now-vacant GM job, sources say."

Gov. Sam Brownback signed into law a $15.6 billion budget Sunday financing pay raises up to 5 percent for state employees and vetoing a directive from the Republican-led Legislature forbidding consolidation of Medicaid programs serving people with disabilities. Brownback expressed regret the 2017 Legislature approved an annual spending blueprint that burned through too much cash and avoided efficiency ideas recommended by consultants.

HARRISONVILLE, Mo. - Dozens of area law enforcement officers gathered in Harrisonville Saturday, smoking brisket and passing around pulled pork, to support one of their own. "It's not about this competition, it's not about who wins. It's about helping out Tom and his family" said Ed Wisdom, an Independence Police officer.
