Amtrak must have gotten its allowance again. What's it going to do when it grows up and Mom and Dad kick it out of the house?
ReplyDeleteI agree that this ongoing picking of tax payer pockets needs to come to a stop. Nevertherless, this is a great route that touches a heck of a lot of cities between KC and Fort worth and provided a myriad of connections that previously had KC folks going 6 to 8 hours out of their way.
ReplyDeletetrains are a great way to travel.
ReplyDeleteif you haven't ridden the southwest chief to chicago, try it.
pretty fast and a bargain.
I love train travel. Relaxing. Interesting. And no TSA feeling you up.
ReplyDeleteWe made the mistake of taking Amtrak from KC to St. Louis one weekend. The train was slowed way down by freight trains having the right-of-way. It was agonizingly slow progress and we were late by over an hour getting to St. Louis. On our return trip we were again shunted to sidings when freight trains passed by. Our arrival back in KC was over 3 hours late. The train ran out of food in the club car, and the toilets were almost at capacity. Never again will I ride Amtrak. What a nightmare.
ReplyDeleteFunny how the beaner express freight haulers showed no interest at all in adjusting their business model for this while pissing and moaning over Trump.
