Here's a substitute for journalism by way of database which pretty much makes the same point about salary envy as any local shock jock. While we're not in the biz of defending City Manager Troy and his big bucks, this money report simply lacks enough context to prove very captivating. Take a look:
Database: Find out how much city employees in Kansas City made in 2016
Three Fire Department employees, the city manager and the medical doctor ranked among Kansas City's top paid city employees in 2016. The Star analyzed the salaries and gross pay for all city employees, which are public record because they are paid with tax dollars.
even a blogger knows that context is everything.
ReplyDeleteI don't even need to look to know that none of them are worth what they make.

If it's so worthless, Tony, why didn't you make an FOIA request, build a searchable database, and make yourself worthwhile?
ReplyDeleteFor fucking once.
3:21 are you angry your obama money is going away, don't forget that is sucking off the government tit
ReplyDeleteAaaaawwww, we can't have professional and high-skilled civil servants earning decent salaries, and contributing large tax payments, and generously spending in the local economy, and sacrificing more of their private lives than most other vocations entail, and all while encountering risks of harm and death at levels and frequencies far greater than the majority of the populace.
ReplyDeleteMaybe well-paid Alex Smith and Alex Gordon could work those overtime shifts in ambulances, on rigs, and in patrol cars. Those FD, PD, and other local emergency response and protection forces can't force the wrecks, fires, shootings, and such to occur precisely between shifts. For them, there's no regulation innings and quarters, nor half-times and rain delays, and never time-outs and clock management.
