TKC MUST SEE!!! COMPLICATED BALLOT IN CORRUPT KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR EXTENSION VOTE EXPLAINED!!!

The voting is underway in Kansas City's toy train streetcar extension election and it's a way more complex than simply going to polling places and making a decision.

Moreover . . .

BECAUSE KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN SUPPORTERS WERE REJECTED IN 2014 THEY HAVE REVERED BACK TO CORRUPT, DESPICABLE AND DANGEROUS TACTICS THAT THREATEN LOCAL DEMOCRACY FAR BEYOND THE CHOO-CHOO PART DEUX!!!

The first streetcar extension defeat was resounding, across demographic lines and by way of a much broader vote at PUBLIC polling places.

And so, streetcar supporters moved back to a sketchy secret ballot wherein a few dozen carefully selected voters could decide HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS worth of local taxes which is beyond mere gerrymandering and more akin to a rigged vote.

This isn't just TKC ranting . . . Transportation Development Districts (TDDs) are one of the worst scams in the Show-Me State and that's according to a Democratic Party white lady who is far more likeable than a local blogger:

Missouri State auditor calls for overhaul of Transportation Development District laws

Nevertheless, the streetcar election is moving forward.

Accordingly, tax fighters offer this clip by way of explanation:

The court website is still probably the best place for local voters to start their research:

16thcircuit.org/streetcar

And while Congress and the Senate didn't cancel Tiger Grant federal transit funding according to the wishes of Prez Trump . . . The government money has been CUT BACK DRAMATICALLY as local streetcar enthusiasts face a tougher time garnering support outside of their tiny bubble.

You decide . . .

Thanks for linking the video.

I support the streetcar and will probably vote yes on the extension but I have to agree that the process is cumbersome and way to much work for the average voter.

I'd be surprised if they get more than 700 yes votes.

^^^ Didn't they only get like 300 yes votes the last time around?

The gravy train will keep on rolling. Kiss the Plaza goodbye!

In city government anymore if it's more democratic control in office, it isn't about what the masses wants, it's about what the privilege few wants

I voted no on the first expansion plan, but after seeing the downtown line in operation for a year, pretty hard to deny the progress. Thanks for the link, I put in my application to vote yes this time. It would be nice if Main Street in midtown looked more like downtown, and less like Detroit.

Progress?????????? Are you really that fucking blind 9:01?

Kansas City will never look like Chicago or even New York, no matter how many trains the City tries to run. Our City (KCMO) does not have the population base.

Pretty hard to deny you're a City Hall shill.

And gosh, you were so certain.

Don't you get tired of being wrong all the time?

The white privileged who won't ride buses will get their trolley. They're determined at any cost.

The streetcar has been such a scam for KC, just saw one go by and it was basically empty. Why don't we just make the bus better?

Lot's of City Hall's finest on here this morning. I would guess most of the "thanks for the info, I'm going to vote for it" people on here don't live within the narrowly defined TDD district, and as such, couldn't cast a vote even if they wanted too. Most of the City Hall shills live in subsidized condos downtown, so they're out.

It's not only the difficult voting process, it's the extremely limited pool of allowable voters who make this end-run so nefarious. After a city-wide vote in which this exact type of expansion was defeated, probably less than 500 people will attempt to put the city on the hook for hundreds of millions of dollars.

REMEMBER, this is just the first step, though. This vote just creates the TDD. The supporters also have to get an affirmative result in a November election in order to set a taxing rate for the district (thus generating the money).

People also forget that taking a streetcar from downtown to UMKC will be very, very slow. Cars and even buses can move faster. The streetcar is not rapid transit like a subway or elevated rail.

That bimbo auditor is owned by Jim Nutter who hates all public transportation. She is answering Nutter's dog whistle.

All of the people living in the existing TDD get to vote again on the expansion. This is so wrong. They already have their personal downtown play toy. they should not be allowed to force other people to provide free rides to Westport and Plaza to go on drinking binges.

I would bet that most of the people who voted for the original streetcar TDD were renters and were long gone before they had to pay the tax. It would not surprise me if the same were true of the second phase TDD. It's all part of the scam. The only thing KC government does well is part its citizens from their hard earned money.

It would be interesting to know if the people that live in tax abatement housing would be subject to the TDD tax.
It seems like it is a separate entity, so they would be taxed.

TDD = Missouri's 3rd favorite scam.

Love that Toy Train. Got a blowjob on it and rubbed the ass of a hot chick just today.

Beats the fuck out of riding a smelly bus too.
