Jackson County Prosecutor: KC man charged with firing weapon in south KC church, injuring church greeter
A Kansas City convicted felon has been charged with firing a weapon in a south Kansas City church last weekend, injuring one person, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Assault 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and a misdemeanor Unlawful Use of a Weapon for carrying a loaded firearm into a church.* *Charges are only accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until the defendant is either found guilty or has pleaded.
According to court records filed today, the defendant went inside the House of Refuge Family Worship Church in the 10800 block of Hillcrest Road on Sunday and became involved in a struggle inside the church with staff and others. Witnesses reported seeing a gun in his waistband. He was wrestled to the ground, but then produced a handgun, witnesses said, and began firing shots. The victim stated that he was a greeter at the church when he observed the argument. The greeter followed the defendant as he moved away from the struggle, and the defendant fired a shot at the victim, grazing his head. The defendant is a convicted felon.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $100,000.

ReplyDeleteThat's one murderous lookin sumbitch right there.
ReplyDeleteI guess those gun laws didn't protect the community from a felon who SOMEHOW managed to get his hands on a gun.
ReplyDeleteThose gun laws also made it illegal for anyone to carry while in a church so the shooter had little chance of being stopped by an armed citizen.
DeleteThose Amish are getting darker.
ReplyDeleteHe just be tryin to straighten his life out. Another stupid negro.
ReplyDelete20 PERCENT OF THE PEOPLE CARRYING GUNS ARE NOT MENTALLY STABLE GET DRUNK AND HIGH AND SHOOT UM,,UP LIVING IN THE WILD WILD WEST.
ReplyDeleteIf a person wants to get a gun, they will find a way to get one. Legal or not. Now this criminal's mother, father and family will cry that he is the one true victim, not the man that got shot while working as a greeter in a place of worship.
ReplyDeleteThis criminal deserves to be behind bars and have the key thrown away. But most likely he will get a plea bargain deal from the Jerkoff County Prosecutor's Office and only have a wrist slap.
Blue really isn't his color. I bet orange would be more flattering.

ReplyDeleteHe'll sail right through the courts and be back out on the streets in no time. Just like the last time.
ReplyDeleteWell the good news is everyone else who legally owns a gun gets to hear what a bunch of low lifes they are for wanting their firearms. When you have a black perp someone else has to pay.
