KANSAS CITY WEEKLY POWER RANKINGS!!!

Amid a strong and deadly week, we offer a quick tribute to the people who really run this town. Take a look:

Burns & Mac

They've got enough cash to put together financing for an airport and show all of Kansas City that they run the Mayor. This corporate giant is poised to tighten its stranglehold on Kansas City politics and civic life with a lot of help from inside City Hall.

Council Lady Alissia Canady

Credit a bit of media savvy and some thoughtful commentary this week for keeping a sometimes controversial local Council Lady in the news.

Kansas SecState Kris Kobach

Democratic Party denizens RAGE over his appointment to Prez Trump's commission to find voter fraud and today he was forced to hand over DOX to a Fed Judge . . . All things considered, this local dude has been doing his best to stay in the national spotlight.

The Kansas City Fountain Lady

Some dope fell into the Royal's fountain tonight . . . But nobody has performed this stunt as gracefully as the beloved Kansas City "fountain lady" who might have sparked a World Serius run with her hottie antics.

TV Morning News Man Mark Alford

Credit where it's due . . . He cracks wise and kinda keeps it real for morning TV audiences in Kansas City. We're fans of his work and admire his ability to offer jokes with quite a bit of subtext that more thoughtful viewers appreciate.

And so . . .

Despite all of these political power moves . . . SHOOTING AND STANDOFF PERSIST in Kansas City tonight.

As always, this list has been compiled according to scientific TKC polling and market research data and it's a weekly comprehensive guide to local powerful people.

  1. And THIS is why Kansas City is actually doing worse than Detroit. Thank you TKC.

  2. Of course Burns & McDonnell owns Kansas City. Did you just arrive? This has been the case for quite some time and obvious to anybody who knows even a modicum about campaign financing.

  3. I'm surprised Alfords feet can reach the ground. Maybe they made a kiddie frame for him. I think a Vespa suits him better.

  4. $2.5 BILLION???

Didn't they say it was CHEAPER to build a new airport. Seems like we can get the improvements we need done on the new airport for less than that.

  5. Alford is the Mayor of Knobtown! I like that he brags about it. Dude makes me laugh but I don't think he likes Abby Eden.

  6. Who cares if Alford hates Abby Eden. Keep her hotness on local TV by any means necessary.

  7. Once again,Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

You phoney comment deleting petty little beanbag of a guy

Why don't you see if Alford will let you ride bitch, directly into a fucking brick wall..

  8. Lay off Alford. I hear that he has a big one.

  9. 10:38 pretty well hits the mark.
With nobodies like this as the "power players" of pretty much anywhere, KC doesn't have much of a chance of meeting its BIG BIG dreams.
Or at least the BIG BIG dreams that Sly keeps trying to sell the taxpayers.
Champagne goals and cheap beer abilities.
    Expensive and disappointing combination.

  10. Abby and Carli.
That's a pair to draw to!

  11. if a new airport is going to be built, the crony approach is not the one to take.
