TKC LATE NIGHT BRIGHT SIDE: MAYOR SLY REFUSING DEBATE SIGNALS LACK OF GO BOND CONFIDENCE AND SIGN OF FADING KANSAS CITY DEVELOPER AGENDA!!!

A great many wise people have used this quote to find comfort and it's an appropriate place to take a pause tonight . . .

"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice."

And I guess sometimes it curves left or right depending on the appropriate mood . . . But I digress . . .

And so this evening we dream of Jordan Carver, a turning point in Kansas City politics and a very smart quote to consider amid TKC BREAKING NEWS about the Mayor's refusal to participate in local Democracy . . .

"The Mayor refusing to debate could mean that the 1-2-3 GO BOND campaign isn't very confident in winning. They don't want to even discuss the facts. At community meetings no one really is in favor of the GO BONDS and they don't like the 40 year tax increase or the project by non-binding resolution. If Mayor Sly debated and lost the election, he would truly be a lame duck. The hotel which is on life support goes away, the single terminal airport vote would be a lost cause, the streetcar expansion dies as well . . ."

Developing . . .

  1. Hopefully, people will wise up to this scam.

I would be a lot more confident if there was actually a campaign structure to oppose the GO bonds. Maybe even a yard sign or two. I'd put one in my lawn.

  4. Less than 10% voter turnout projected?

Those aren't good odds for anybody and it's anybody's ball game. I think that's the only "bright" spot in all of this political chattering. Also, I'm really disappointed to see the Star towing the line again for this Mayor. He has presided over their destruction and they're just eating another helping of what he's serving. That's the real shame.

  6. ^^^ That assumes that the Go bonds win. That doesn't look like it will be the case at least not across the board. I'm looking forward to a lot of surprises on April 4th. It's going to be fun!

    Negroes by the busload.

  13. It will pass. They have bought enough votes from section 8 slime balls and stupid people that rent and think it won't apply.

  14. Say Bonzo, who are you quoting with this: "The Mayor refusing to debate could mean that the 1-2-3 GO BOND campaign isn't very confident in winning. They don't want to even discuss the facts. 15. I continue to get all these GO Bond flyers in the mail and the only council person I see is the Mayor. Do they think he is the only one doing a good job? Every time I see thes flyers with the Mayor on it ,this makes my decision a whole lot easier to vote against it. I remember how they gerrymander the first vote on the "ToyTrain" and now they want to do the same thing with the extension. Accountability from them is we will give you a report card on progress after you vote for 800,000,000.00 dollars from raising our Property taxes. How many of our civic leaders live outside of KCMO and won't have to pay the property tax increase. We have several current, former, and potential council members who are renting and they will not have to pay the increase in property tax for the next 40 years.
