TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KCPD CHIEF $500K PENSION PAYOUT POLITICS WORKS AGAINST SOLVING RANK & FILE SALARY CRISIS!!!
The behind the scenes on this story is that KCPD are in the midst of a salary dispute and this latest development will work against officers on the street if SOME politicos at City Hall have their way.
Perspective from insiders and TKC readers offers a better look at the politics of the situation. Checkit:
KCTV5: Kansas City Police Chief Darryl Forté will retire from the department on May 20. He will walk away from his job with the city owing him nearly $500,000, according to the department.
TKC, look" for this pension payout to become a big part of why KCPD won't get their salary requirements met from City Hall this year."
"Forté will be laughing all the way to the bank. 9514 hours in just over 396 days. Hell of a payout for showing up at a homicide scene on a day off or after regular hours..."
"Maybe its time to cut the new chiefs pay assuming he'll put in the same bill for comp time. That would show that the Clowncil has learned something from getting rolled for big money . . ."
Developing . . .
There are all kinds of theories about solving crime but most of them aren't as proven as paying police to do the job. KC really has its priorities screwed up.
ReplyDeleteThe last comment is the most relevant. We need to make sure the next Chief can't take advantage of the system the way this one did.
DeleteMorally and ethically wrong. An arrogant and condescending attitude towards citizen concern regarding this. I'm disappointed. I expected better of him. Looks like he was in this just for the money. He forgot where he came from.
ReplyDelete^^^ +1
ReplyDeleteGood for him.
ReplyDeleteGo and take your cronies Harvey and Lindaman with you!
ReplyDeleteSounds like the Feds are after Harvey.
DeleteTake the money and run ¡ What a joke maybe a real cop will change the douchebag homosexual agenda KCPD , clean up the liberals Boyz in the Hood , do true police activity !¡ Chuck and out ¡!¡!
ReplyDeleteCan anyone guess who will be the first commander that will say, "I knew the NOVA concept would never work" once Forte is gone?
ReplyDeleteBad guy wants to know?
ReplyDeleteSo, can I be a user in possession of a firearm again? and not go to anymore "call in's".
Swag Nation!
$500000 is a pretty cheap price to get rid of this worthless coin. Except he will probably be replaced by another worthless coon.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the nutjob Chuck stalker 10:11 is back.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing what two nice cool officers advised me to do, get a gun. CCW is legal. Protect yourself. Thanks guys. Lucy, I'm home. Let me show "LittleRicky".
ReplyDeleteGuy did more in one day as chief than someone like, oh I don't know, Super Dave, did in his entire life.
ReplyDeleteKC has got to go outside of KC to find a new chief. Time to change the culture, build moral and adapt new technologies.
ReplyDeleteFunny they went outside of KC to find this piece of shit
DeleteHey Darryl can a brotha get a loan, seems to me these white boys mad they weren't as smart. Finally a black man games the system. But I don't see how you gamed it when all this was approved by a majority white board.
ReplyDeleteLet's go outside the depr and get a black male/ female or gay/lesbian chief watch what happens. The same klan members in blue will say that they are loosing the country and the dept is going to shit. They will never be happy unless a white male is running the dept or the country
ReplyDelete@ 11:36 That has to be the most racially motivated post to date. So much for equality when all you want to do is be on top. So much for the best qualified person for the job, etc. Pathetic!

ReplyDeleteThe interview process for the next Chief is critical. Look for the "local control" crowd to really try and thug their way into the process and get a new chief that will help tear apart the department even more.
Great job beating the system. OJ Simpson would approve.
ReplyDeleteI am under the impression that you have been hoorawed, I say hoorawed, and I for one believe Jim Brown is having a second coming right here in our fair city. Bloody moons, to Bloody Sunday, glory be get some Earp justice flowing. Keep the peace, I say, maintain the peace. For all. Justice has a name and meaning. We all want to go home safe.
ReplyDeleteWow. KCPD and KCFD have made a good living screwing the public. Comp time for the Chief of Police? Almost a years worth of vacation leave? In the real world you use it or lose it. That's to prevent scams like this.
ReplyDeleteSo much for any indecision on my part as to giving any support for the up coming vote on the 3 bond issues. Not a chance in hell.
ReplyDeleteKCPD is one screwed up police department and it shows.
ReplyDeleteIt's not about serving the community it's about self service.
Pensions, more money, desk jobs. Pay to Play.
In the mean time Kansas City suffers.
Just look at the Plaza situation.
THis one BIG reason for Local Control of the Police Department.
ReplyDeletePolice are the Mafia
ReplyDeleteA Taxpayer scam......
ReplyDeleteVOTE NO to the 800 million the Mayor wants.
Any exec in Corporate America is salaried and disqualified from OT and Comp. Should have put some caps in place.
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
Deleteyeah, it's not normal and, indeed, unbecoming for an executive, especially a ceo, to get overtime.
ReplyDeletevery strange.
His actions (comp pay and now this unexpected announcement of his retire) show what his priorities are and were.
ReplyDeleteTalk is cheap, Chief your actions speak volumes.
Get what pension you can now. Look at the city's plan which is a crashing joke.
ReplyDeleteThe chief earned it whether you think he did a good job or not. If we need to reform time cards and pay the new chief less, that's worth discussing, but Forte fulfilled his contract and deserves his agreed upon compensation.
ReplyDeleteWell said, the criminals are policing the criminals. But as soon as one good man stands up he's the criminal. Sounds like a scene from Serpico. The man earned it pay him. Now let's reform the system no PLOP, no overtime , comp time or pay for sick leave not used. Let's be honorable going forward. I believe most of you who failed to plan for the future are depending on that sick time payout. The same as your current chief so to all you hypocrites who will take all these payments be careful in what you
DeleteWish for
Forte was fair and honest which we can not say about many of our other "leaders". He was everywhere all the time and he should get paid for that. We have developed a strange attitude in the U.S. Rather than commend a person for being always on call and on the scene, we talk about cost and how CEO's do. If those of you throwing the mud would look at what you are getting from the persons in positions of power who "Go Along and Get along" rather than trying new things and working non stop, maybe you would learn how we are getting screwed by the status quo. Forte was not Status Quo and some of us tried to tell him what would happen.

ReplyDeleteFucking place is a joke Chief Kelly would be ashamed of what it has turned into. No real crime fighting "Not Allowed" Brush Fire operation NOVA my ass what a joke. Unkempt shaggy looking Un-Professional a result of the poor leadership. Three of the DC's wouldn't no a bad guy if it bit them in their fat ass. Never chased down a real felon in their life. Feel bad for the officers who want to do police work. Come on Ron put in for it and change the culture. "Make Kansas City Safe Again" You know whos' submitting this...!!
Government jobs are the best. Next best job is on a school board. Grab all you can get and move on.
ReplyDeleteThe KC Board of Police Commissioners agreed to Forte's contract when he was hired. They have had years to accrue funds that should have been dedicated to paying the obligation. They didn't do it. KCPD has a $250 million dollar yearly budget, how hard is it to park $50,000 a year in a separate account to pay off the Chiefs OT, sick and comp time when he retires? By all measures, Forte has done a great job as Chief during a very tumultuous time for police departments around the country. Major failure by the Board of Police Commisioners!
ReplyDeleteNobody seems to care that the KC Fire Department lets employees work unlimited overtime and Troy Schulte has to find a way to fund it each year. I always hear the tired argument "but firefighters are heros". Where's the accountability?
ReplyDeleteKey city management positions should pay a flat salary with no bonus or overtime. Who are the pack of irresponsible Jackyl da Rippers who dreamed up this arrangement?
ReplyDelete9514hrs divided by 396 equals 24.025 hrs a day
ReplyDeleteKCPD is a taxpayers nightmare.
ReplyDeleteWe need Local Not State control.
The people who are really paying the price for this fiasco are the citizens and the community. The crime rate has taken it's toll on this community.
ReplyDeleteWell that's one shitbird gone.
ReplyDelete@5:28 Yes local control is the answer! then KCPD could get on the Fire department rape the taxpayers band wagon, unlimited spending till year end and then tell the city - pay up fuckers.
ReplyDelete@11:46 Close to a half mil tho? That's just stupid or you may be on the same payout.
ReplyDeleteKansas City would be better off with the Mafia protection racket.
ReplyDeleteAt least you get something for your money.
@5:28 Why? All ears...
