TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! CITY HALL ALREADY COUNTING GO BOND MONEY BEFORE KANSAS CITY VOTES!!!

One of the most BRILLIANT denizens of our our blog community sent an important note about financial planning on 12th & Oak that has very little to do with Democracy.

Accordingly . . .

CHECK THIS EXCLUSIVE DOCUMENT SHOWING CITY HALL ALREADY DEPENDENT ON GO BOND MONEY BEFORE THE APRIL 4TH VOTE!!!

Here's the word and FIRST LOOK at the dox . . .

I noticed that debt service for the GO Bonds are already in the budget, as you can see in the attached PDF . . . The debt service just beat out TIF allocations.

This AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS advises us to look for ordinance 170164 in order to duplicate his research which proves out . . . Natch.

More importantly . . . This KICK-ASS bit of citizen media accounting reminds us that elections in Kansas City are often determined before a single ballot is cast.

You decide . . .

  1. And this is why it's important to vote NO.

    1. Agree that voting no is a good start. But it's not the end of it.

Try electing better representatives who are accountable to voters. Most of the current batch just seem like self-interested careerists.

  2. The whole point of the April election is to make sure there are few people as possible who are voting. That's why all the taxes have traditionally been introduced at this time of the year. Surprised they didn't try it in February.

  3. This is debt service on the last round of GO Bonds voted on back in mid 2000's. It's payment has been in the budget for years....but hey, don't let facts get in the way of a good story.

  4. It's going to pass as ACTUAL polling, not your made up shit, shows support for it.

  5. ^^^ You are correct 7:53 AM but,

Also keep in mind that the April election is the only one in the year that requires only 4/7 of majority to pass vs 2/3 for all other elections throughout the year.
    4/7 = 57% vs 2/3 = 66%

Not a big difference but big enough that the crooks in City Hall always have their tax increases in April for maximum chance of passage.

  6. The only hope of this failing is if enough pot smokers show up to vote YES on the de-crminalization issue, question 5 I think, and say NO to the tax while they are there.

The bastard crooks were able to keep the minimum wage issue off the ballot which, if on the ballot, this GO Tax would fail big time.

I read on this blog I think, that only 3% of registered voters will actually vote and we can figure 2% of that 3% will be big business and TIFF recipients.

There won't be enough citizen property owners showing up to vote unless there is some sort of grass roots movement.

Where are you at District Rep Brandon Ellington?
We know you're against this KC GO issue, organize and defeat!

With all that money, will the city build that play room that Caleb wants over here at the county? Young Mr. Clifford is still cross! He wants a play room and he wants it now!

  11. I am so sick of hearing about how City Hall has a War Room communications center and JaxCo needs one. Fuck it.

  14. Maybe people are waking up the fact everything about Slie James is an elaborate fabrication and it's time to force some fiscal discipline on City Hall.

  16. Hoping this thing does not pass.

We have enough taxes already. KC is getting too expensive for such a small city.

  17. Vote yes if you don't want your car killed by potholes. That would be way more expensive.
