    Nobody turns down a judicial appointment because of the pay. They have an unbelievable retirement pension so essentially they can just spend 100% of their salary without regards to saving at all.

    Plus I don't know any 75 year old practicing attorneys but I know a lot of judges in their 70s. It's an easy job and one you can work until late in life.
