Join us to discuss how the successful actions taken by the Indivisible Guide can be used to make our voices heard in Topeka and Jefferson City. Time to make some phones ring at the state level!
Guest speakers include Representative Judy Morgan from Missouri District 24, and Representative Valdenia Winn from Kansas District 34. They will give us an overview of what's happening to date in the current legislative session, their suggestions of where we can make a maximum impact, and tips about how to approach your state legislators.
Hillary Klofkorn Shields, from the Indivisible KC will also speak briefly about what progress has been made at the Federal Level, and how they are heading into state actions as well. The GKCWPC has signed on as a partner of the Indivisible organization.

ReplyDeleteMissouri Sen. Claire McCaskill declined an invitation to attend a town hall organized by a group called Kansas City Indivisible this weekend, deciding to send a staff member in her place. The two-term senator, up for re-election next year in a state Trump won by nearly 19 percentage points, is scheduled to chat with voters next week on Facebook Live.
“Seems to me that all these members of Congress are afraid to face their constituents,” said Hillary Shields, a volunteer organizer with the Kansas City group.
