UPDATE: We are happy to say that we have confirmed that representatives from the offices of Sen. Claire McCaskill, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver II, and Mayor Sly James will join us tomorrow. They will be prepared to listen to testimony and share a statement from each elected official.
Missouri Jobs with Justice, along with the Heartland Alliance for Progress and Indivisible KC, will host a public town hall meeting to demand our elected officials protect the Affordable Care Act. We have invited Senator Roy Blunt, Senator Claire McCaskill, Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, and Mayor Sly James to attend and hear testimony by those who will be negatively affected if the ACA is repealed.
The town hall will be Saturday, Feb. 25th, 1pm - 2:30pm at the Teamsters' Union Hall (4501 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd, KCMO, 64130. Please plan to arrive early, as space is limited . . .

ReplyDeleteWHat we need is a cap on corporations like HCA charging some patients 140K and another 30K for the same health care. - FACT!
ReplyDeleteWe need them to stop billing patients 2K a day for rooms they contract to provide insurance companies at $300.00 a day while billing the patients and additional 20 percent ($400.00) copay on the $2000.00 rate. This goes on near ALWAYS with the insured and has for years.
We need to stop the practice of hospitals billing patients tens of thousands of dollars for medications to protect patients from health issues (MRSA) that the patient could only get from exposure at the hospital itself.
Something wrong with a health care system owned by stock holders, politicians, doctors and huge corporations.
