TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY COUNCIL DUDE SCOTT TAYLOR BUILDS $330K MAYORAL CAMPAIGN WAR CHEST WHILST CRITICS FEAR CONFLICTS!!!

Behind the scenes the contest to replace Kansas City Mayor Sly James is heating up. This is important because most Kansas City elections are decided before a single ballot is ever cast.

To wit . . .

KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS SHOW US THAT 6TH DISTRICT COUNCIL DUDE SCOTT TAYLOR LEADING ALL CONTENDERS WITH AN EPIC $330K WAR CHEST!!!

We're still two years out from campaign season but he just took down another $55K+ during the last fundraising period.

Take a peek . . .

EPIC FUNDRAISING FROM COUNCIL DUDE TAYLOR ELICITS FEAR FROM SOME DENIZENS OF OUR BLOG COMMUNITY ABOUT POTENTIAL CONFLICTS!!!

Here's the word . . .

"We're asking about a specific exchange of campaign cash from a KCMO real estate developer who had business before the Council. Councilman Scott Taylor, Chair of the Planning and Zoning Committee, spoke glowingly of his support for the project. We wonder how many people realized he'd just accepted thousands of dollars from the company? The Council approved the project in a unanimous vote..."

KCMO City Council Approves $90 million New Housing Development at 47 Madison on Plaza

"Councilman Scott Taylor, Chair of Planning and Zoning committee said, "This will be one of the most visible and exciting new apartment developments in Kansas City for years to come. We are excited to support this significant $90 million private sector investment in Kansas City."

And here's public info that isn't widely touted via the Missouri Ethics Commission:

Contributor = Block Real Estate Services, LLC
700 West 47th Street, Suite 200 Kansas City MO 64112
Contribution received 11/17/2016
Contribution this time = $2,000.00
Aggregate total = $2,500.00

Don't take our word for it . . . We invite all of our readers to check our work at the MO Ethics Website.

But what we've found brings this conclusion from the TKC blog community . . .

"At the very least, Councilman Scott Taylor (an attorney) exhibited very poor judgment and leadership, and leaves the appearance of being "ethically-challenged" . . . We hope that the Mayor and Council can enter remedial ETHICS 101 class to review their responsibilities and oath of office . . ."

Will there be an ethics investigation or more training? Will Missouri politicos step up and actually fulfill so much "ethics" chatter that's always ignored after every election cycle?

Probably not . . .

To be fair, this donation connection is pretty much STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE AT CITY HALL and doesn't violate any campaign fundraising rules . . . That are rarely enforced anyhoo . . .

On the bright side, without our blog community NOBODY WOULD REPORT so many big money power moves that actually reveal a lot more relevant information about Kansas City politicos.

You decide . . .

  1. People really see Scott as a contender?

    That's sad.

    1. Look at the money. Follow the money. If Taylor has that kind of cash and nobody else is raising anything, then he's going to to win. It takes money to win elections and who ever has the most usually wins.

    2. Kansas City needs somebody like Trump to break this cycle. It might not work at the council level but the entire city would appreciate someone who could talk about this kind of stuff without losing his ability to be elected like the average local politicians.

  4. Just another shyster lawyer on the city council. At least he's not wearing a bow tie yet.

  5. That is just one example. Several companies that have had or will go to before the Planning and Zoning committee have made significant contributions. A tactic his wife, Chair for Hillary's campaign, learned from her hero's stint as Sec of State.

  7. 4:03 you have to remember who his wife is and then you might be able to understand why he just might be high.

The real story here is will Scott run the city or will Cathy be hiding behind a wall like in the Wizard of Oz calling all the shots. Rumor I hear is she wears the balls in that family.

All politics in this town is bought and paid for by somebody.
